Do you mean match the boost port opening on the cylinder base to your cases?

Or modify the boost port inside the bore to match the other inlet ports?

Smaller carbs are easier to set up and get running right.
Bigger carbs give you more macho willy waving rights.

You'll get a better result with the tyres off and it's fairly easy to remove them with tyre irons. Make sure you protect the rim when you lever them off. Have you tried jamming in a flat blade screwdriver, or using similar keys?

I use Loctite 243 - medium strength. Comes as a blue liquid in a red bottle (some people call it the "the blue one")
It stops stuff vibrating loose and you can still undo the fastenings using hand tools.

Stronger Loctite is available but needs heat to break the bond.
