Re: Help. Scooter starts but doesn't rev.
My neighbors wouldn't take kindly to a bonfire/ BBQ clean  So I pressure wash with water to get the worst out then fill it with white spirit/ turps for a few weeks. Then clear that out and pour in dilute caustic soda/ sodium hydroxide (careful!) leave for 24hours and give it a water blast to w...

Re: Where does this coil spring go?
Ok, just had a look inside my Mini Melody tranny case and can only see 1 spring like that spare one. Though I actually have an NP50 which I would have known if I'd read my footer  Your cover looks like it has GK8 stamped on it which I think is the same as the Spree. Sooooo, had a look through ...

Re: Where does this coil spring go?
Nice clean cases!
I've got an NT50 engine on the bench at home.
I'll pop the tranny case when I get in and have a look.

Re: Help. Scooter starts but doesn't rev.
I've got a Chinese mini bike that has those exact symptoms if you try revving it with the choke (air restrictor type) on.
Likely points to clogged air filter like Taz said.

Re: '82 Honda Tact Full Mark Custom ab07
+1 NB50 (there's a manual for the NB50M - http://www.hondaspree.net/other/Aero50_SM_83-84.pdf ) AB07 is the same as my Melody Deluxe 2 (ND50) and I think it's the same as the Melody Deluxe (NS50). The NB50 in the UK was the follow on from the Deluxe 2 but with different body work. Doubt it's an '81 ...

Re: Match boost ports?
I saw one of your other posts saying you were planning on modifying/ porting a Taiwan cylinder.
Do you mean match the boost port opening on the cylinder base to your cases?
Or modify the boost port inside the bore to match the other inlet ports?

Re: Condensation on intake manifold?
The venturi effect that sucks petrol up from bowl works on pressure differences and can drop the ambient air temp by 30-40F. Also as said below the cool air rushing through the manifold. This results in a cooling of the carb body and manifold. In extreme circustances you can get ice forming in your ...

Smaller carbs are easier to set up and get running right.
Bigger carbs give you more macho willy waving rights.

Re: Rusty dio wheels
You'll get a better result with the tyres off and it's fairly easy to remove them with tyre irons. Make sure you protect the rim when you lever them off. If you really don't want to take the tyres off, I guess you could deflate the tyres then put masking tape and newspaper around the tyre. If you're...

Have you tried jamming in a flat blade screwdriver, or using similar keys?
Some of the parts schemes at cmsnl.com http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-ch80_model901/ show it might be possible to take off a panel at the back and then maybe use some bent wire to hook on to the latch.

Re: Elite stem loose
I use Loctite 243 - medium strength. Comes as a blue liquid in a red bottle (some people call it the "the blue one")
It stops stuff vibrating loose and you can still undo the fastenings using hand tools.
Stronger Loctite is available but needs heat to break the bond.

Re: 85 Aero 50 project
So will any 47mm and 10mm wrist pin kit work in the 85 aero? You'll need to make sure the ports on the base of the barrel match up with the crankcase, or at least cover each other up with enough meat to make alterations. Also the barrel needs to be the right height so when the piston is at top dead...
