Re: 1984 nq50 honda spree cranks but doesnt start
Post a pic of the spacer thing. You’ll need to resize the pic to post it due to file size restrictions. Your issue could very well be a popped crank seal. Ive had it happen before and the result is the same symptoms you have. https://www.partzilla.com/product/honda/91201-GK8-003?ref=aa9b969dc2b2181b...

Re: 1984 nq50 honda spree cranks but doesnt start
If the battery is weak and wont spin the motor fast enough to get going, you can hook up jumper cables to a car battery to give it all the push it needs. Just do NOT have the car running while you do this. A running car will provide 14.4v and your Spree can only handle 12v….keep the car OFF. Buy a c...

Re: Pg long flip cone?
Cut it open, the internal cone baffle can be flipped to increase flow (and noise) and then weld it back together. Its a poor man’s mod that very slightly increases performance. Hardly worth the effort in my opinion.

Is it SE50 or SE50p? Look on the VIN sticker on the frame tube under the floor deck.

What did they go to on the Spree motor? Green is ground and can be bolted anywhere.
Ive done this swap. Good luck getting the airbox to fit under the Spree panels.

Re: 2001 Honda Elite Newbs 1st Scooter
1/2 throttle at 306 doesnt indicate a need for a jet change. How does it react when you blip the throttle 0-3/4? If it sounds muddy, rich. If the rpm’s hang before returning to idle, lean. Try the mixture screw before swapping jets. Once youre happy with the throttle response, take it for a rip and ...

Re: See-through float bowls?
If you buy a new carb for $20, it probably only costs $10 to make it. How good do you think it will be?
There are a few things where its ok to cheap out on. A carburetor is not one of them.

Keep an eye on the dates of the posting. You just replied to a thread over 10 years old written by Abe Lincoln’s grandfather.

Re: Fuel petcock with "reserve"
The ebay ones are a crapshoot. Different years Spree’s have different thread pitch on the tank bung. The ebay sellers are 75% inaccurate on fitment. I say this because I had to buy 4 different petcocks from 4 different sellers before I got one with the correct threads. I made the rookie mistake of t...

Re: I think I need a new crank
Crank is probably fine. The slop youre feeling is the crank bearings…which are not fine. Keep running it like that and pretty soon the crank will not be fine. Crank bearing replacement requires a full teardown of the engine case and a few specialized tools. Flywheel puller, crank puller, v-blocks an...

Re: 2001 Honda Elite Newbs 1st Scooter
Install the bigger jug and try to dial it in with just swapping main jets. Before you go drilling anything, you may not need to. The Polini sport bore can be ran fine with the stock carb but not the race bore. If I were more familiar with the Malossi cast Id be able to answer your question. You can ...

Re: 2001 Honda Elite Newbs 1st Scooter
Im not familiar with the Malossi cast. I know that tuning will be a bear with the stock carb not having a pilot to play with. Drilling it is risky since you cant go backwards and you never know when you’ll need a good stock carb to grab off the shelf. Wheelman played with the Malossi’s a bunch. He i...

Re: Dio af18 project🔥
I know the Corsa and it loses steam after 10k without extensive port work. Spin it high as you want with 3g rollers but you wont get the top end speed. Great for popping wheelies and getting a nice slingshot effect off the starting line…then it will fall on its face since the variator only opens hal...

Re: Dio af18 project🔥
Who is telling you to use 3g rollers? Do they even make those?!? Dont use those. Think of roller weight as a TOTAL weight, not individual. So if you use six 6g weights your total is 36g. I would not go less than 30g total weight or else your “Sharpie Test” will never reach the top. The lighter you g...

Re: Dio af18 project🔥
What RPM’s are you topping out at? If your sharpie lines indicate the belt not reaching high enough, it could be a few reasons. Like…wrong width or worn belt, wrong size variator boss, rollers too light, RPM’s too low, incorrect or too heavy contra spring, etc….it also could be the Motoforce clutch ...
