Re: New 44mm bore kit....now what?

First of all, Taz (Marc) is a righteous dude. His product is pretty much bolt on and go, as long as you have a little technical know how. You will have to have the head milled. Had mine done by a local wrench for $15.00. Once it was back, I had the big bore kit on, and engine running within an hr. I...

once I locate the gasket, and put it on, what should I expect? Will i need to re-tune? Will there be more power?

Re: S pree Exhaust Gasket

There were kick starters. There were no electric starters. We took the cover off of one of them, and the starter was not there. More interested in what to expect, and how to fabricate an exhaust gasket. Local Honda dealer went out of business about 3 months ago, and the nearest is about 1.5 hrs away...

S pree Exhaust Gasket

Hey, I was riding my spree trolling the nearby marinas today. As I was riding past a sailmakers loft, i saw a guy rolling a black spree out the garage door. I put on the brakes, and went for a visit. The sailmaker had a customer who left 2 1987 sprees in his loft since 1995. The customer told him th...

Re: Spree Belt Problems?

I have not changed the belt, or checked the clutch. Still getting a consistent 35-40 mph (GPS TESTED). Bike just needs to run for 3 or 4 min before getting there quickly. May follow tjamz lead at the end of the riding season, and put on an elite e clutch. How do you visually tell if clutch is going ...

Re: Spree racing gears soon avalable.(marc)

I have not changed brake pads yet. When I did bbk this winter, brakes actually looked really good. Will adjust tension on current system to see if it helps. If not, will try changing brakes.

Re: Spree racing gears soon avalable.(marc)

Marc, are these the same gears you sold with the 44mm bbk this past winter or different? I was just on the phone with a friend who picked up a 84 with 7000 miles on it for next to nothing, and was trying to convice him to buy the bbk/gear kit from you. With all of this speed, you need to work in a B...

Spree Belt Problems?

Hello, I have an issue that I think may be drive belt related. When the bike is cold (first 2 miles or so of first trip of the day) it almost feels as though the "transmission" is slipping once I hit 20 mph or so. Once she is warmed up, there is not a problem. Does this sound like a worn b...

Re: Starts cold, runs, hard time restarting when warm.

i have bbk installed and get a minor warm start issue that is usually solved with a couple of turns of the throtle. I found that once i turned my idle up a bit, the problem lessened.

Re: Done with this version of spree!

i think the jet im running is the 85 that taz sent with his kits in dec 09. I am running a sponge filter (cut from a 2 cycle lawnmower filter to fit the stock airbox with 5 1/2 holes drilled into the back of the cover of the box. Taz may correct me on the jet size, but it is what he provided and it ...
