I was thinking of doing the big bore 48 kit from chopchop
I will post a video of the plastics soon, I had to do some trimming to fit over/ around the pipes.

Re: 85 Spree CVT
So can somebody post a link to why the 85 spree coes not have a CVT style pulley on the rear... Is a snowmobile clutch not considered a type of CVT. :bowrofl: Feel free to flame, I am not sure exactly how my rear pulley works as I have not but my cover in half to watch it in operation. The rear pul...

Re: how to identify piston seizure
Thanks gentlemen, I noticed a sign of leakage from the upper reed valve gasket. I took it off and installed a new gasket. I was thinking the gasket may have allowed a venturi effect to draw air in(this may be a stretch but I like to think that way). I will do the test on resistance and compression t...

Re: CDI not working? Open it up!
I tried that on my 85 spree cdi today. I used a milling machine, it did not work too well once I cut through the corner it seemed that the top was still molded to the circuit board. Is that how yours was? Do I need to just pry the top off? Thanks Pretty much, the black rubber stuff sort of holds on...

Re: how to identify piston seizure
So I will continue... I ported this carbon out with a die grinder and a carbide attachment. There is no sign of carbon anywhere now. I reassembled the engine and used honda-bond rtv for a headgasket. I also did some quick grinding on the air ports on the cylinder to remove the poor cast marks, and o...

how to identify piston seizure
I recently pull my old spree apart to decarbonize it. I used map gas and torched the exhaust red hot(dull red) and ignited the fumes coming out and continued to do so until the vapors leaving were no longer flammable. It appeared to work well, I should have weighed it before and after. Here are a fe...
