Re: Got my first Tomos!
You're an addict!! Looked at getting a Puch Maxi a couple of weeks ago because of the tuning options but they're going for pretty silly money around where I live - about $850 for a non minter. Ended up getting something else that's very rare in UK that I'd been looking for since last summer. Will be...

Re: PGO
You can buy 'Dog Bones' to jack up the rear end. This will affect the steering geometry to give the front forks a steeper angle and reduce trail. Doing this will make the handling more lively - closer to a sport bike - but you sacrifice stability, increasing the risk of a tank slapper. If you find t...

Really nice patina, proves it's an old bike that gets used like it should.

Yeah, that's the stuff.
You can buy rolls of it on eBay, like the sticker bomb stuff.

Re: moped or scooter?
As far as UK is concerned, moped is a legal term. On a HMRC NOVA form for importing vehicles in to the UK, 'Style of Motorcycle' is moped for 49cc machines, even if it looks like a scooter. e.g. a J series 125cc Lambretta would be a scooter and a J50 Lambretta would be a moped. Plus, There are moped...

Retro memories...
I had a Raleigh Burner in Blue and yellow back in '84, though I think only the red ones were called burners.
Then I got a Raleigh Banana (12 speed?) racer in '89.

Re: JUG SWAP QUESTIONS. ( UNDER TITLE READ)
Get a base gasket for the jug and compare to your current cases to make sure the ports match up. If they're only very slightly out you may be able to grind out part of your cases/ jug to get them to match. Some cylinders won't match because the intake ports will extend beyond the metal available. I ...

Re: Crank bearings nb50m 83-84 model copy questions.
The bearings will have a number stamped on them, usually on the face of the outer race.
This is a standard system (like Dewey is to books) and relates to the various bearing dimensions.
Use this number to get exactly what type of bearing you need.

Õêç looked it up using this tool - http://kanji.sljfaq.org/draw.html
It means 'Off'.
Had me foxed at first as it's only one kanji and not two.
Was getting a translation of 'Seven Sword'

Re: Oil Pump Delete Vs. OEM Oil Pump Vs. Aftermarket Oil Pum
The pump on my Melody Deluxe had worn teeth. P.O. had used it as a pit bike so hadn't bothered keeping up with maintenance. The bore was worn and scratched causing a lot of blow by past the piston. I think the hot exhaust gases were either burning off the oil before it could get to the oil pump driv...
