Retrofit X1 49cc Expansion chamber to stock exhaust

Hey my fellow scoots, in todays day and age i cant find my self not tweaking with things. I made an intake a while back and while it looked cool and "worked" i needed more. I was browsing ebay and saw the little pocket bike expansion chambers were sized for 49cc and very cheap. This is wha...

Re: New diy intake results on 85 spree.

In the video, i showed the power jet sucking fuel but only at higher rpm and wide open throttle. when i bring it to half throttle flow is immediately stopped.

Re: New diy intake results on 85 spree.

Some juicy high rev test video for you guys, i used longer hose for the jet to delay the fuel delivery, the previous hose sucked too fast.

Re: New diy intake results on 85 spree.

I got my small parts in so ill be doing some runs once im out of work. The longer intake in the picture made the clutch lock up slower, it was causing turbulance at lower speeds. I made a smaller version that is essentialy a big elbow to the carb with a filter on it. It ran alot better. The new filt...

Re: New diy intake results on 85 spree.

With my next test i had lined up, i wont be able to properly run it until i get my air mix screw and bystarter. I installed a power jet to see if i can supply fuel at higher rpms using vacuum. If i installed the jet in the carb throat, fuel would pull at a ssooner rpm, i installed it 1/2 an inch fro...

Re: New diy intake results on 85 spree.

I guess my own personal takeaway I think you need to consider, is whether or not you do or do not believe Bernoulli's principle applies. Once whatever stream you are feeding it reaches the venturi in the carb, you have negated all that air you wished to come in by decreasing the atmospheric and vac...

Re: New diy intake results on 85 spree.

Ive been out testing it tonight, the old filter filled with oil and gas when my bike fell so i chucked it. im currently on my spree now with a food service wash cloth as the filter and it works a little better than the media filter, it can idle very low and i was holding 25mph at quarter throttle, 3...

Re: New diy intake results on 85 spree.

Greetings: Following this with great interest. Is it worth purchasing a CHT gauge so you can have a better idea what temperatures you're running at various speeds? Im getting the cht gauge to see my max possible temp at wot with the set up before i make any more changes. if im running lean like sai...

Re: New diy intake results on 85 spree.

Well, I'll tell you what. I have learned to never argue with people who think they have defied the laws of physics. I just move along and won't even give them an "I TOLD YOU SO". But I can say this... There is about a decades worth of reading on this site from people who have tried this a...

Re: New diy intake results on 85 spree.

P.S. Doing what you did will not increase air velocity, would explain more but I am at work, Google Bernoulli's principle. I was just reading up on the principle, it is interesting bit i had read this aswell "The main disadvantage of basing a carburetor's operation on Bernoulli's Principle is ...
