Re: Spree aftermarket led blinker

so looked that up and there is 3 options for the 2 plug setup similar to the stock honda one . that would be (ep37,ep50,ht47) which of those 3 would be the one to get? There's not much technical info on the Novita site. I'd have gone for the smallest, but checking prices the EP50 was better - at Au...

Re: Honda 3 wire vs GY-6 Fuel Sender

Another thing most people are asking 100$ + on a used sender on ebay that who knows if they work or how long it will work !! That's crazy high. At that price we can get a new part - I added the Honda Metropolitan sender into this thread, it's 1/2 that price. It looks that it would work with a float...

Re: Spree aftermarket led blinker

I'm thinking about getting these for my aero 50 and mounting them in between the mirror post and the mirror ! possibly or some small flush mounts on the headstay cover Those look easy to mount up about anywhere. Post up some pics when you get them mounted! 12.99 part from autozone part # EL12 (Novi...

Comparison of GY-6 Fuel Sender Resistance to Various Honda Scooters The GY-6 is a virtual clone (in terms of resistance) for the Honda Aero 50/ Elite SE50/ Elite SA50 for years listed below All other models showing resistance ranges have the GY-6 within the valid value The Spree is the only scooter...

Re: Honda 3 wire vs GY-6 Fuel Sender

GY-6 Fuel Sensor Resistance Instead of using a meter, we'll trace the circuit. -- Determine value of each resistor -- The first 2 digits printed on each resistor is the base value, the last digit (0) is a multiplier of 10x. In this circuit board, all multipliers are (0), so there is no x10 multipli...

Re: Honda 3 wire vs GY-6 Fuel Sender

GY-6 Sender PCB (Left)/ txaero121's Aero 50 PCB (Right) -- Thanks txaero! We should add some width measurements here. IRC between the Elite SA50 and GY6 the parts looked very close to the same... The GY-6 has only 8 steps of resolution vs 12 on the Honda. We'll compare overall resistances later. GY6...

GY6 Parts Breakdown
It did appear that the GY-6 float arm could be swapped out with any Honda arm I've seen.

Honda 3 wire vs GY-6 Fuel Sender

txaero121 posted some pics of a Honda Aero 50 3 wire gauge he's working on. He noted the GY-6 sender looks very similar and might be used for parts. I tore down a GY6 sender a few years back and it might even work as a replacement - if the float/float arm are swapped. -- Let's dive into some photos ...

Re: 1986 aero nb50 ground wires melted

I checked everything other than the regulator not 100% on how to do that via the chart and the process ,but the stator, resistor, coil where all in ohm spec This is my take on the test: In Row 0/Col 0 is the text "-/+". That defines which DMM Probe (-) Black/ (+) Red used for each test. R...

Re: 1986 aero nb50 ground wires melted

i just printed out the service manual to check the ohm readings with my Digital Multi-meter when doing this from what I'm reading the bike has to be on and running? or can i throw a battery in it and check like that. No power should be applied for resistance measurements. Any power on the circuit w...

Re: Self prime vacuum petcock

Yeah I was thinking of using the primer bulb on the ‘vacuum’ line to open the diapraghm after sitting for awhile to allow fuel to flow to the carb... I'd have same questions as you: 1) The vacuum loss to operate valve during full throttle (or starting w/o primer bulb) may be too large to open the p...

Re: Gyro - general thread

Hi data_guy,
Here's a pic of the tabs and bottom of the cover.
If you ever happen to have the carb cover off and its convenient to grab a pic, that would be great. I do see the general shape on the exploded diagrams, but it's hard to make out specifics (tabs/slots/??) on the underside of it.

Re: 85 Spree - Not enough power to turn over fast enough

Ordered a bendix for an 86 with 63T that ‘should’ be compatible with this starter. It’s a good test to see if that actually fixes the issue.
True - that will be helpful work on the issue

Re: Spree carb is junk?

1) Check the carb body behind the carb mounting flange closest to the bystarter for a dent from a 'too long' bolt If there is a dent, pull the bystarter and see if the carb body has internal damage 2) Make sure the brass fuel pickup tube for the bystarter is fully seated in the carb body Edit - add ...
