Re: Piston Damage

I would personally replace the piston and rings with it, it's not expensive and it's the right thing to do. KM did mention something very vital, you have to figure out where that missing piece went eventually.

Re: How to split a AF16e case for noobs 25 pics.

Another method that works is to heat up the bearing seat on the case halves. Depending on the heat source, it may take 10 or so minutes to heat up the area to expand it to allow the bearing to slide in easily. We use a very high wattage heat gun and most of the time we can get the whole bearing to f...

Re: variator

Do not grease the variator or rollers, ever. If you must use a lube, only use a dry lubricant like graphite for locks but even then it's completely unnecessary.

I have no idea how it's done since we send all of our stuff to the mainland for this kind of stuff.

Re: Cryogenics?

When I used to work as car mechanic and machinist way back when I was in my 20's, we used cyrogenic treatment on transmission components, mostly differential cases, ring and pinion gears. When you build cars that puts out 800-1200 horsepower with 1000-1500 foot pounds of torque in a split second, a ...

Toast seems to have installed mind-reading parts on his bike, lol.

What he said. ^^

Re: hot taiwan setup (Arnadanoob)

On a stock Corsa, ideally you want to be between 20mm-24mm in carb size for absolute top performance, however finding carbs in that range isn't always easy. In Hawaii alot of guys go with a 28mm, not because it's better than a 24mm (all it does is drink more gas and make more noise) but due to price...

Re: Vapor Install Vid

I must admit that gauge looks really nice. You didn't have to give me any props BT although I do appreciate it lol. Well you have all of the core necessities to fine tune the bike now. A customer of mine explained something to me in an interesting way and I have to admit that I agree with it. When y...

Sounds like the clutch engagement point is too soon. What other mods do you have? Does the problem occur all the time or after the bike's been warmed up?

Re: polini pimpin, 5kmi corsa overhaul

The way you jet Toast (rich), combined with using Castor 927, I think your rings are going to outlast the life of your house.

Just kidding, but you're right, the rings on a Corsa (chrome top ring) lasts a VERY long time.

Re: hot taiwan setup (Arnadanoob)

Bakaracer is right on the money. Ideally 24mm carbs will work better in the end. If there's anything anyone here is going to learn from being here, take this one home. Sometimes in order for the engine to produce more responsive power, you need to go smaller on the carb. There's a lot more people mi...

Re: boost bottle

Boost bottles can work but my personal take is that it's more of a gimmick than anything. At the very bottom of my post I'll tell you the most noticeable result of using a boost bottle. The idea of the bottle is to capture some of the reversion that occurs doing the power stroke cycle that seeps pas...

Re: hot taiwan setup (Arnadanoob)

i would personally would be using the stock honda crank. i was thinking of running a cheap bore and getting a good carb, manifold, pipe. so i wouldnt have to throw down for a corsa right away, and i could practice my tuning without worrying about trashing a 300$ bore. then when im ready i could jus...

Re: big bore cooling?

The boost port is the port(s) located opposite of the exhaust port and inline with the intake port which helps with scavenging. Cooling is just 1 small part of the scavenging process. Port matching allows the scavenging process to occur smoothly without turbulence. When a smaller port encounters a l...
