Re: Is this elite a 94 or newer? picture
Lack of locking glovebox is a dead giveaway. Been a lot of '87's for sale in Oregon lately (well "a lot" considering I thought them to be somewhat rare). Cool, so I know what to look for. I just want a dio motor to replace my stage 3 spree setup. I found a couple nice elite's 94+ but they...

Re: Sym dd w/ hona dio engine i need help please!
Jacob, you are causing a lean condition and it will burn your engine up if you run it like that. :surprise: The jetting may be a little rich and that's why it runs better with out the air filter. Put the filter back in and jet the motor correctly or you will be sorry. That is my understanding, good ...

Re: 45mm bbk compression
Probably not going to have enough compression with that. I have the same cylinder kit, the stock head was not allowing good enough power without the excess heat. It just wouldn't cool enough AND run well. I had it apart at least 5 different times and did not see any abuse or noticable wear. I now us...

Iceman, are you using the stock head, with what gasket? It's the kit from Patrick?

Re: VINdication
Greetings: Thanks, Dawgs. Only trouble is riding 'em both at the same time. Maybe weld a couple cross bars across and make them into a Quad. Like a Gyro, only one wheel better! Nah, maybe Ms. Wheelperson could get over her snooty disdain for anything less than 883ccs? Alright, I would love to see s...

Re: VINdication
Hey Wheelman-111, I checked the Honda parts dealer I use online and the 1998 SA50 has the VIN # 3H1AF16 0WD9 00*** is in fact a 1998 SA50 model, which is the Elite "SR" model. The "S" model, or SA50P, VIN is 3H1AF16 1WD4 00***. I have highlighted the differences. Happy for you to...

Re: 89 Elite R - my first build
Howdy yall! Sorry for the lack of updates. Did not accomplish much lately due to skyrim. I did work on it tonight. I think I fixed the oil leak problem from where the exahust bolts to the head. The vw gaskets that I got were too big so that was a fail. I tired the stock one and made things worse, s...

Re: ran good then cut off now wont start
The reason the ring broke is what I'd be concerned with. Possibly during installing the piston into the bore? Could be they weren't seated yet and too much rpm? 8-10 tanks of fuel before WOT is my formula. Not saying you did anything incorrectly. I would be sure to slightly chamfer the tops and bott...

Re: How much is A 87 Honda se worth in good condition?
Like Wheelman-111 said. Don't think honda made that model in '87. I would check those serial numbers for sure. Looks 95 or 96'ish.Look underneath the bottom of the floor deck, should be a white sticker with info on model/ year. Nice looking ride though. Happy Trails! :) EDIT: sorry, I was confused b...
