Re: Replacing the rear shock on my 88 Honda elite SA50 LX
Oh no.. Just measured the rear and front springs. The rear is only about an 1" 1/2 wide. And the fronts are only about an 1" 1/4 wide.
heh oh the stress.. I hope it will somehow work. Maybe grab one side of the spring will be enough.

Re: GOT A FREE SPREE !!! NEED A KEY !!!
Nice score! Sounds like a great project to get it runing. I got a question about getting some keys made for my 88 and 01 SA50 Elites. I bought the blank keys from a online honda dealer. Now can i just take my working keys into any place that makes keys and they can use the good key to make duplicate...

Re: Pull the head off and look or not?
The head probably just need to be decarbed good and the piston. I hope not honed.. hate to see what that would cost. If you're talking about taking the jug to a shop to be honed, you can buy a hone a whole lot cheaper. The shop will have a minimum which exceeds the cost of the hone. Shop ebay. Most...

Re: Pull the head off and look or not?
Yeah, i'm looking for that power that used to be there. I guess that extra ring is not really needed then.

Hopefully cleaning the muffler will give me some power back.

Re: Another Belt Install Question
Yeah i believe that could be were i tore them up as i was installing the belt wrong the first few times with the belt on the boss leaving no room for the drive face. Figured when i get the nut on finger tight that it must be on the splines right. :( Lessen learned the hard way. This winter i guess i...

Re: Another Belt Install Question
If it makes you feel any better i just opened up the crank cover to change the variator again and noticed that my brand new crankshaft is already worn to its max. The splines are almost gone! The face drive can just barely hold the last bit of splin. I'm sure its a goner. I would love to know why th...

Re: Pull the head off and look or not?
Thanks mouse.. So the expander ring goes behind the bottom ring right? So if i didnt add that, it would be a huge prob or no? Yeah i guess i should use some draino to clean it out.. just gota wait till the next paycheck. If i have to take the head off, i'd rather do it soon so theres time left in th...
