Re: Honda Gyro starts and stalls after about 10 seconds

What do you think about the idea that it's not starving, it's choking. Maybe not enough air getting through the filter? Did you squeeze out the oil really well? Maybe the float is too high? With what you have done it seems like it's a mixture problem, and you are reporting a wet plug. Are you using ...

Re: dont know alot about scsooters please help

You could probably take the o-ring out of the other carb, put it in yours and continue to use the proper carb.

I've been using an old pencil, and giving it a whack with a rubber mallet. Your idea sounds good, too, but I'm not a golfer. I like using wood things to "encourage" stuck, fragile metal things to move.

Re: '85 Honda Gyro S Fuel Mixing Tube.

When the engine is running and the bystarter is connected, at startup the mixture is rich. As it runs the power from the stator heats up the wax in the bystarter and the pin extends, shutting off that circuit completely. After that you idle off the pilot jet. So, if it won't idle right, your pilot j...

My bet is that it's a bad ground. After a year in storage anything can happen.

Re: '85 Honda Gyro S Fuel Mixing Tube.

Take the bystarter off the carb you bought, put it in your old carb, put the old carb on the Gyro. I'll bet it runs fine and will continue to run when it is warm.

Re: '85 Honda Gyro S Fuel Mixing Tube.

The tube you are working with has to do with the bystarter, which enriches the mixture when you start out but closes after runnning a little while. It's an electrically activated gizmo with a pin that moves down slowly. The replacement carb could be faulty in a different way because the bystarter pi...

You should talk to companies that insure collector cars to see if you can get a group policy for your kids. I insure 6 for $210 a year total.

Re: 1987 Honda Elite CH 80 NO SPARK 9K

I have had problems where the spark plug cap and the cable come together. Try unscrewing the cap from the cable, spray contact cleaner in there, and screw it back together. Then you can unplug and reconnect the CDI, and the contacts at the coil. Lots of times it's dirty contacts.

I've had pretty good luck with rubbing compound to get off overspray. Don't use a buffer, use your hand to rub the compound.

Did you look at the Wisconsin DMV website? I just did. If you had it legal once, it doesn't look so bad. http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/drivers/vehicles/plates/dup-c-of-r.htm http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/drivers/vehicles/plates/replaceplate.htm http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/drivers/vehicles/title/repla...

Re: Compression test

Well, you are taking the head and the cylinder off anyway, so you'll find out. These are really easy engines to work on. If you didn't already do it, you might just take the engine right out of the frame and put it on a workbench. Save your back and much easier to get everything done.

Bonk is a description of force. It's a little harder than you'd hit your little brother on the head and not as hard as you'd hammer a nail.

In situations like this you can try following the instructions and using the forms at http://www.ct.gov/dmv/cwp/view.asp?a=816&Q=244692&dmvPNavCtr=|#30281 I usually make a really low offer and tell the guy I'll give him the money if DMV accepts the forms. I fill them out, ask him for the ans...
