Re: Low dollar to high dollar budget estimates to use a 48mm
Last 2 times I pulled the plug after running it was a perfect brown (perfect as to the opinions I've read here) just a little extra unburied oil in the jug and case, I don't think it's been enough to cause a real difference yet. I'll pull it and snap a pic this evening after my daily break in 3 mile...

Re: Low dollar to high dollar budget estimates to use a 48mm
Might help that I don't have a baseline to go off, first scooter I ever touched and it was non running when I got it.

Re: Low dollar to high dollar budget estimates to use a 48mm
No woes here, just kinks. I'm a very UNDER qualified mechanic who's first project is this spree and so far it's been fairly simple to figure out and work though. Thanks to a lot of write ups I found here before I joined. I hope my luck is better than yours with the bbk but as of this point I have ab...

Re: Low dollar to high dollar budget estimates to use a 48mm
Might also explain the small spot of oil I'm leaving under the kickstand everytime I park it for a while.... Extra lube for the crank case was planning on tracking that down tonight.

Re: Low dollar to high dollar budget estimates to use a 48mm
Dang, think that may be why I soft seized? I'm atleast 50-1 if not slightly heavier. Was following the instructions Taz provided.

Re: Low dollar to high dollar budget estimates to use a 48mm
Gotcha! I calculated 2 gallons at my 30something mile per tank would get me close to 100 so figured I would more or less go by the can and not the odometer as much.

Re: Low dollar to high dollar budget estimates to use a 48mm
For break in??? I could see after but that seems awful light for break in.

Re: Low dollar to high dollar budget estimates to use a 48mm
Per the instructions Taz included im 50-1 for break in then I believe 80-1 after. My 50-1 probably isn't accurate as I was using a 1.5 oz shot glass to premix 2 gallons of premium so it was "close" at best. I also added a few capfuls to the tank after I soft seized and panicked! Side note,...

Re: Low dollar to high dollar budget estimates to use a 48mm
After thinking about it, I'm not sure the main jet replacement was ever specified. I don't know where I got 90 from. Only Taz would know the real number then. Everything seems to work great, rather amazing at the moment but I'm still 50miles away from break in mark.

Re: Low dollar to high dollar budget estimates to use a 48mm
Sure I'll snap a pic and post this evening when I get home, aside from 48bbk everything is stock 85 except larger "86-87" drive pulley that I swapped from the kickstart conversion I did, the larger one works so much better than the smaller 84-85. Smaller pulley closest to the engine, not s...

Re: New member here!
I'm on the path to a full, and correct minus bbk, restore on this guy, decals are on the list of things I'll get to, but my plastics wernt in great shape when I got them, I managed to patch all the cracks with epoxy but it's not perfect, I know it's there! I planned on some new plastics in the futur...

Re: Low dollar to high dollar budget estimates to use a 48mm
Does this mean with my 48mm bbk and 90jet I believe it was (just purchased a few weeks ago from Taz) I should consider trying to block off some of the holes I drilled, double side of electrical tape maybe, or look for a new air box lid?
