Can't take credit for the mods, previous owner did those. Not too well either on the battery cover/backrest. Just a piece of 1/2 inch plywood that has split between the mount holes due to poor fit on mounting studs. Admit it does look better than nothing and could be done better with good planning....

As stated previously, have a spare '85 Gyro in good charging condition. No parts cost involved with a swap. However, meter shows no increase when in-line on good bike, just stays constant 12 volts. New battery lasted several hours but eventually would not crank the bike.
