A Quick Lesson on Stroker Motors
Greetings: I admire the skill with computers in evidence on Dac's post on this topic. I would add that another feature of a longer stroke engine is its increased displacement, which would account for its increased low-rev performance at least as much as the "leverage" factor. I also agree ...

Carb Cleaning
Greetings: My Aero was sold to me by a friend who at one time purchased a "kit" to overhaul the carb. As often happens, he never got around to finishing the project. I'm not sure if/where the kit can be procured today. Without replacement parts, cleaning the carb may or may not help. Rubbe...

Another Approach
Greetings: Internal combustion engines need three things to run, presuming the heavy parts are in working order: 1. Fuel Mixture 2. Compression 3. Spark at the right time. Number 3 is unlikely to be the problem. Everyone always talks about "Timing" being "off", because it sounds ...

Roselle/Malossi USA
Greetings:
Thanks. I called the 888 #. The website is Malossi USA. I really appreciate all the guidance. I'll get to tear into the Aero later this week or next.

Malossi Online Site
Greetings: This is where I found some gears: http://www.malossionline.com/en/catalog/model/peugeot-st-50-2t-MO_PEST50/gears-67 Evidently a Peugeot shares some running gear with the Aero, AKA Vision 50 in Europe. I had less success finding an US distributor website from which to order. Roselle? Can y...

9:1 Gears Not Listed on 50cc.eu
Greetings: Thanks for all the replies. The 50cc.eu site listed seven (7!) top-end kits for the Aero along with a 19mm Amal carb and a rusty-looking stock muffler, but no gears or anything else I could fiind today. Depending on the exchange rate, Polini and Malossi 47 mm piston/cyl kits for under E$1...

19 mm Carb
Greetings: I don't know what the power output of that little honey is. If it's 200/liter -- not an atypical output even for stock 4-stroke 600 sportbikes - then it makes about 14 hp. In full racing spec, durability and longevity is not a concern, so it's likely even more than that. No doubt that it ...

These Boys Is Serious
Greetings:
I had no idea:
http://uk.polini.www.portal.tradenet.it/pages_375.html
Bad-ass scoot. With the US$ in the toilet, this thing probably costs more'n a dang Hayabusa. Still... What price is too much to own the baddest 50/70ccs. on the planet? Zing.

NB50 AERO: Source for 9:1 Gears
Greetings: Thanks to the kindness of this Collective, I have found sources for all the Go-Less-Slow parts I plan to install on the 1985 Aero with the exception of the final drive. There do not seem to be any available that are described as compatible with the NB. Lots for '94/later SA/Dio, though. S...

VTCycles Website: Improved Overnight
Greetings: Yesterdaty my Google search broght me into a primitive-looking website that showed only one 63cc kit available for my Aero. Revisiting today I found a much more attractive site, and it now features a different kit (Proma) in addition to the Taiwan-made CMR I had seen. Someone told me thei...

Re: Older Newbie with a New-to-Me 1985 Aero
Greetings: Thank you for the warm welcome and informative replies. I Had a look in VTC and found the 63cc kit. It would be no surprise that on a 23-year-old bike it is the only aftermarket kit still available. Still, are there any other choices still out there? There is no better path to global uphe...

Older Newbie with a New-to-Me 1985 Aero
Greetings: I have inherited a 1985 Aero which will serve as my 'round-town winter commuter scooter. With a stock top speed of around 25-35(?), I have some concerns about traffic, even on the side streets I intend to travel. I have read about these bikes extensively here and elsewhere but still have ...
