Interesting ideas. I'll be following.
Guess I never realized these scoots get such terrible mileage. I bought a 2011 Yamaha C3 50cc scooter brand new and got a best of 137mpg while averaging 110+ mpg. I know its apples to oranges but a swap may eventually be in order

Re: Met vs Ruck Wheels What’s the Difference?
Ruckus wheels are wider. Don't think a ruck will work and the met wheel would be tight. I would suggest a 94-01 elite sa50 wheel with met brake plate. The elite wheel is just slightly narrower than the met. Your still gonna have to modify the hub and re-shim to get it centered. i dont think the met...

Re: Do not swap Spree engines
I literally swapped my spree with an af16 for free. A derestricted af16 can do 45mph. Super easy swap also.
Title should be "never spend money on a spree engine"
Sorry but just my opinion.

Re: Thoughts on headlight tint
Been there done that. Its all about visibility sharing the road with the crazies. Doesn't matter what bulbs you put in. The electrical is specifically designed for the lights that it has stock, Honda knows there stuff and I'm not gonna mess it up. With age you'll come to appreciate a clean, stockish...

Re: What do you think about this elite S set up?
I'd suggest changing one part at a time, especially for a first build. You don't need half of those parts.
If its just for running the pits I'd keep the stock set up de- restricted and put lighter weights in the bike.
Mine pulled wheelies with all the stock parts.

Stock contra and yellow clutch springs. Should I try blue or white contra?graphite9 wrote:what center spring? Also stock cltuch springs? If you dont have a stiff center spring it will destory every aspect of the power delivery. I had a bad spring inthe rear and my bike was an absolute dog.

Re: Picked Up A 2001 Elite Today!
I haven't done a top speed run but it feels like it would taper out a bit earlier cause of the lighter weights. It runs great though.
I thought maybe if it was a carb issue my temps would be skyrocket.
Maybe the tach isn't accurate? Seems to be right at idle. It reads 1200 rpms.

Re: Picked Up A 2001 Elite Today!
So I'm topping out with the arrow same as before, 4100 rpm. Just a lot better acceleration. I dropped my weights to 33g from 41g and picked up 500rpm on the top end. What am I doing wrong here? Shouldn't I be closer to 8k red line?

Re: Picked Up A 2001 Elite Today!
I'm gonna back up a bit here to catch up. This spring I ordered one of those Polini gauges from SSS. It was actually his first on he posted on fb before getting them on the site. Install was super easy besides taking the front plastics off the bike. I'm really liking the features, especially the lig...
