Re: 01' elite kickstart trouble

It's been awhile since i had one apart.
You might need to unhook it from the gear, put spring into place and then use screwdriver to hook it back onto the gear after gear is in place. It can be tricky, good luck!

Re: 01' elite kickstart trouble

Try to get in there with a screwdriver and push the big spring into position. It is under the gear preventing the gear from going all the way down.

Re: 1987 Honda Elite 50

I did rings on my 87 awhile back and had the marks facing down. It acted the same as yours is. Flipped them and it started right up. If everything else is good it's worth a shot to check.

The ONLY way is to spend an evening stripping and splitting the cases, knock out the bearings, and wash and reassemble with new parts

Re: How to bring color back on faded plastic? Also seat?

Get a pint of "boiled linseed oil" (Home Depot or Lowes) and a pint of paint thinner. mix them 60:40 (thinner:linseed), stir. then while wearing gloves, squirt the mix onto a clean, lint free towel or a wax/foam pad and then wipe it all over the plastic parts as if it were tire shine. That...
