Re: UK 81 honda melody phat n slow
Yeah the 125 is air cooled 2stroke, it needs a piston, maybe rebore? Il go take a look when I get a chance! Your right, I had to cut the muffler mount clean off to get wheel on, going to leave the hole open, it's only going to be used on sunny days, so should be fine, need to chop my exhaust anyway ...

UK 81 honda melody phat n slow
First of all I found this group trying to find some info on lowering a melody (spree) so I then put a post up about Banding a wheel? Cut a wheel in half and space it with a band! Had good response, so thought I would post my progress, started with a local cheap Melody, been looking for awhile, then ...

Re: Wheel banding
Sorry dude, forgot to post pic of. Y mount, didn't want much stretch on this one as its running standard motor for popping to the shop :-) I just used some 20mm box section which brings it back 20mm,and offset off 30mm to centre the wheel again http://i569.photobucket.com/albums/ss140/bobspeed_album...

Re: Wheel banding
Well my tyre tyres turned up, stuck the rear 120/70/10 on, and wheel wouldn fit http://i569.photobucket.com/albums/ss140/bobspeed_album/vivaro/9ed6c0aa31015e06fc3453d1305c60b3.jpg So let tyre down to get it on, and mark out where would be touching, marked it out, and cut it away, runs free now http:...

Re: Wheel banding
I put the engine back in earlier so I could see how the wheel fits, and work out my engine spacing http://i569.photobucket.com/albums/ss140/bobspeed_album/Mobile%20Uploads/7be06654e9c7bed91f6c0cb544ff0a85.jpg This is where is will roughly fit two inches higher than normal ride hight, but as you can ...

Cheers guys, it's nice to hear good feedback, didn't know if I would get a slating fo doing it saying it's not safe and stuff! My first car was and old Ford anglia 1960, with wide arches and banded wheels, and I loved it, then everything went wide alloys and shiney rims with the whole fast and furio...
