Re: How do I connect this Spree oil line? (pic)
Here is what normally goes there I believe - should be easy to match, just a 1/4" to 1/4" connector. Some type of clear hose so you know you have the bubbles out. I use this 1/4" blue poly for oil lines - cheap on Amazon. Never use poly on fuel lines, but it seems to do ok with oil. c...

Re: NH80 - Removing drive gear for crank seal replacement
Thanks, good advice on both fronts. The proper Honda tool in the manual is a little out of my price range but I found this post which suggests a tool: http://hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=32108
I'll remove the engine and give it a try with heat.

Re: NH80 - Removing drive gear for crank seal replacement
Argh, thought I found the perfect work-around tool. Just bends the hinge and strips the threads - that gear is on there. Heard those guys at Autozone all have Corona virus so trying to stay home. Maybe I heard they like to drink Coronas, not sure...

NH80 - Removing drive gear for crank seal replacement
Hi all, working on an 83 Aero NH80 and I'm inside the leftside engine cover. I'm trying to work on the kick start mechanism but also notice a little oil/fuel mix inside the case, so I thought I would change the crank oil seals while I'm in there. It looks like the drive gear will have to come out in...

Re: 83 NH80 Stream Red - couldn't walk away
You seem to just keep going MM - hope all is well. Electronic by-starters are for sissies  - gimme one of these - hoses are cheap. I'll move over to the build section and post some pics - maybe someone will feel sorry for me and send me that left rear panel they have in the basement... I like...

83 NH80 Stream Red - couldn't walk away
Good day everyone, Haven't posted in a while - been outta the game with other projects and life keeping me busy. Ran across an 83 Aero NH80 with under 400 miles, mostly all there though it had been sitting in the weather for a while. Seemed like too much work but I am retired and what he was asking ...

Re: Bogs on throttle opening and now won't even start
Greetings: I suspect you finally got it to run long enough and warm up enough to burn off the half-crankcase full of oil resulting from 547 days of a slowly-leaking oil pump o-ring. This might be the reason why your plug fouled out. It should be fine if you run it frequently, or you can look into r...

Re: Changing Spree tires - What's the trick?
Hi all, haven't mounted any 10 inch tires in a while but I remember what a PITA they are. Just curious, I started using silicone spray instead of soapy water because it just didn't feel right putting moisture inside the tire and on the rim. I figured if I use it to treat the rubber on my vehicles th...

Re: 83 Aero NH80 Roller weights
Another quick comment - the seal around the oil filler cap is a small problem but I've found that the bigger problem is the seal around the oil sending unit. It is sealed the same way - pushed down into the tank with the ribs forming the seal. I noticed that whenever I topped off my oil tank, I woul...

Re: Spree tire size (motormike apology)
Greetings all, I don't post very often anymore but wanted to chime in on MM's apology. For anyone who is a regular forum visitor, no apology is necessary - MM has shown himself to be honest, helpful, and generous (as well as grammatically correct). Hope you feel better - anyone who names his rides c...

Re: 83 Aero NH80 Roller weights
On your oil cap - I have had several 83's. None of the 83's have any packing - they are just ribbed push-in caps (maybe the ribbing rubber is removable?). Mine almost always have a little in the tray also but it doesn't cause any problems. I haven't tried on an 80 but I have had luck on other scoots...

Re: Aero 80 idle issue
Sounds like you figured it out but remember that those 80's have the elaborate bystarter/choke system which, if not working properly, can really have an effect at idle. You can replace the bystarter hoses with clear hoses to make sure nothing is flowing after the engine warms up, but I have had bett...

Re: How to bleed/drain an oil line with a bubble in it
If the bubble is between the tank and pump, you'll need to pull line from pump and let pour into a cup until no air and then put back on pump - keep lots of rags around. (good time to clean the filter at tank as mentioned) If the bubble is between the pump and the intake, If it's all put together an...
