Re: 1987 Honda Elite SE50 Derestricting
Ok, so I'm getting ready to install the Keli variator and speed pulley on the Elite. While I am in there I was thinking about changing the clutch springs. I was going to start with the 1000 or 1500 Polini springs. Do I need to change the contra or anything else while I am in there? https://www.ebay....

Re: jetting a se50
That's interesting - it does not have a restricted pipe and all the markings indicate it is not the SE50P. Old thread, adding for History There was not a washer restriction on the SE50P pipe (on my 87', and told by others here). You need to use an Aero pipe or something aftermarket. I used the Tech...

Re: Milling Spree Head
Ok, just wanted to confirm. I will be checking clearances as well, but just wanted to get some feedback. Looks like I will probably take .020 off both heads for now as long as the clearances check out ok this evening.

Milling Spree Head
So this has been covered 100 times, let’s go one more. I plan on milling the head tomorrow on one of my sprees. Seems like the general consensus is .020” is a good place to start. I have two sprees and the one I’m working on has an, 86’ cylinder, 85’ head and domed piston (Taz), is taking off .020 s...

Re: jetting a se50
I started with an 86 and ended up with 84 for the jet, it didn’t seem like it lost any bottom end as I’ve seen before, and you noted as well. Pulls like crazy throu midrange compared to stock. I’ll get the Keli variator and speed pulley on then play with springs. Thinking 40+ is no problem once that...

Re: 87 Spree with MLM Pipe - Improve Takeoff / Lowend
Already have a tach, I will take any oomph I can get. I'll give them a go. It can't hurt anything (except clutch pads). If it bogs pack down as least I'll get a little "push" when it engages. I agree, I wouldn't want these it traffic at my weight, but it's acceptable with the wife daughter...

Re: 87 Spree with MLM Pipe - Improve Takeoff / Lowend
I’ll take anything at this point, I have a pipe and speed pulley, getting 39/40, but the pipe doesn’t hit until around 25, 15-up is ok, 0-10mph is barely acceptable for my wife and daughter, but I’m 225 lbs, not 105 or 130 like them. I always thought the springs were idle + 1000, 1500, or 2000. Is t...

Re: 87 Spree with MLM Pipe - Improve Takeoff / Lowend
Anyone still have a line on 2000 or 2500 springs for the spree clutch? Haven't been able to track anything down.

Re: 1987 Honda Elite SE50 Derestricting
Honda SE50P Step one completed — Up to ~35-36mph with the Technigas pipe, tough to tell exactly with the wind tonight, so I went both ways on a flat road and averaged the GPS speeds. Now onto the variator/speed pulley when time allows, more to follow. Pretty happy with the results so far. I’ll check...

Re: 1987 elite SE50P de-restrict
FYI, as noted in this thread there is NO washer to grind out on the stock exhaust. You need a new aftermarket pipe, or an Aero pipe.

Re: 1987 elite SE50P de-restrict
Bringing this up from the dead as well. I installed the Technigas pipe on my 87’ Elite SE50P today, couple issues. 1). New mounts in the back push the pipe out about an inch, bought longer stainless bolts, and stainless sleeves and fill the “void”between the pipe and mounting positions so it would b...

Re: jetting a se50
Bringing this back from the dead, installed Technigas pipe with no restrictions, assume I should start with the 85 jet as well? I couldn’t read the jet size on the one that came out, but I started with an 82, I studders a bit on cracking the throttle before it starts to sing.
