Re: Zuma Idle Speed
Latest..... Checked for leaks could not find anything. Removed and cleaned the carb, looked clean but cleaned it anyways. One thing I did notice. When I first start and take-off everything is good. Come to a stop light/sign and rev goes right back down. I live in a warm climate and this seems to be ...

Re: Zuma Idle Speed
Thanks, But where and how do I search for an air leak? Could it be rubber hose to the inlet of the carburetor or where the outlet where it connects to the manifold?

Zuma Idle Speed
Hi all, I have a 2003 all stock Zuma, starts and runs great. Just in the last month, sometimes not always when I come to a stop the idle is high. Not high enough to cause the scooter to move but a couple hundred rpms high. If I blip the throttle it comes right back down. It has a new spark plug and ...

Re: Kawasaki Z125
Not sure about the Grom, which KTM, the RC 125, that is like $5K U.S. Nothing about the Kawi looked as you said cheap and crappy. Styling is very subjective. Do you really think a Spree looks that good or for that matter an Elite? I have a 2003 Zuma, Yamaha has had the same basic look since 2002, it...

Re: Kawasaki Z125
The K-pipe looks ok, but with the inverted shocks, styling and Kawi name I think it is worth the extra grand. IMHO

Re: Zuma clutch question
Update!! I made the assumption when told the drive belt was new it was new. I took it off, measured it, the belt was a couple of millimeters below the minimum. Got a new belt and let's say the elite looks good in my rear view mirror (sorry bones). But that did not come without losing it on the takeo...

Re: 2003 Zuma Clutch & Bell
DSD,
Would you have some time available to take a spin on my Zuma and let me know what you think. The 40ish would be great, just need to keep up with the wife's "Bones" tuned Elite.
Thanks
Bob

Zuma clutch question
Hi all, I have a stock 2003 50cc Zuma, with 10k miles. It has had a new top end and Yamaha belt about 1500 miles ago. The only non OEM part is a complete polini 2 shoe adjustable spring, clutch assembly including bell, PO owner installed that. That was disassembled, cleaned and regreased. I am runni...

Re: Lost some top speed
Update to the update: Did a compression check last evening (thanks bonesv) and it was a little over 90psi. Going to tear it apart today and see how much damage. As long as it is apart I will most likely clean the exhaust. Spoke with the wife about a BBK, nope, wants to stay stock. Thanks to everyone...

Re: Lost some top speed
Next Update: Have not done a compression check, will do that tomorrow. Drained out the premium fuel and replaced with regular. Fiddled around with the air bleed screw. Took for a test ride no change. During the test ride I did notice one thing. Now I am not a big guy, 140lbs, but sitting on the seat...
