Re: Front tire tilted toward left fork
I just remembered I took one of the gap yesterday, if it’s of any use. That’s the fork in the foreground; this is on the right side if you’re looking at the scoot from the front.

Re: Front tire tilted toward left fork
Thanks for all the help guys. As far as I know, it’s a stock elite wheel and brake hub. 2001 Elite S (derestricted). Not sure of spacer length, when I take the axle apart to get some pics I’ll measure the best I can. I was looking it over again. Today and it may not actually be tilted, just off cent...

Re: Front tire tilted toward left fork
So then, it is not normal to have this gap? The spacer is the only one I have, so I’d imagine it’s got to be the right one. Then again, no clue what the PO had done. Would it be advisable (or at the very least, safe) to try to find some washers with the correct ID/OD as the spacer to shore up the ga...

Front tire tilted toward left fork
I recently removed a bent center stand from my 2001 Elite after noticing that it was rubbing on the front pulley cover. I had previously noticed that the tires seemed to be angled differently, and because the stand was bent had assumed that the rear tire/motor hanger/frame was the culprit. But after...

Re: Center stand not fully retracting, maybe bent?
All set with a nifty new side stand thanks to Bones!
Could someone do me a solid and post a pic of their Elite’s factory center stand in the retracted position? I just want a reference so I can be sure nothing is bent or out of whack with the stand and or frame before I pull it off. Thanks!

Re: Handlebar/Dash overhaul?
Yes! That’s exactly what I was looking for. I was thinking about possibly trying to cut the stock speedo out so I could fit the trailtech in there but still keep the fuel gauge/odometer, but this looks pretty slick! Any idea what those clamps that hold the brakes/switches are and where I could get s...

Re: Handlebar/Dash overhaul?
Mouse, that one looks sick! I love the painted/powder coated frame and lack of body panels. I’ll have to look in the scooter showcase as you suggested for more detailed views of the handlebars.

Re: Handlebar/Dash overhaul?
So I found this as Scooter Swap Shop:
https://scooterswapshop.com/products/ho ... -bar-clamp
Leave it to them to have exactly what I need! It’s pricey but having previously worked in manufacturing and knowing what it takes to make something like that, seems like a good buy.

Re: Handlebar/Dash overhaul?
Yeah. Makes me miss my machine shop days, when I could make just about anything. I’m gonna take all the panels off this weekend when I install the boatload of parts that have come in over the last week, so I’ll be able to get a better idea of what I’m working with then. Would love to hear from anyon...

Chemical exhaust cleaning
Hi guys, In the not too distant future I’ll be putting new gears on my Elite, which will mean removing the muffler and rear wheel. Its got about 5000 miles on it, so I plan to clean and repaint the exhaust while I’ve got it off. I’ve read the wiki procedure for doing the lye exhaust cleaning. I know...

Handlebar/Dash overhaul?
Hi guys, hoping someone can chime in here and maybe post some pics of something similar to the idea I have. The outer handlebar cover on my Elite is pretty messed up. Cracked/missing pieces, etc. I was considering perhaps ditching both covers and going with a fully custom dash. Probably would use a ...

Re: Center stand not fully retracting, maybe bent?
Or at least I think it was; it’s sitting in my outbox. Not sure if that is normal or not
