Greetings:
I agree. Check the front axle for trueness before you realign the fork tubes, however. My day just doesn't go right after the front wheel seizes...
That said, I like the bike. Looks like there's enough room under the tank to fit a spare Dio engine!.

Greetings: Yes those parts are similar. Mine are 300 miles away right now so I can't say for sure until Sunday night. It seems to me that my primary reduction - the clutch drive shaft gear - had straight-cut teeth, but as I said I'm not positive. Your box indicates a 16/32 ratio. I'm sure that's the...

Ringing in the New Year
Greetings: Few people know - or maybe it's just me finding out so late in life- that the whole Honda empire was built around Soichiro Honda's Better Idea for piston rings. Honda-san was a metallurgist and perfected this hard, long-wearing material that held compression and just flat worked better th...

What Fools We Be for Love
Greetings:
Carwash in the snow? The things we do for love! At least your Aero seems to be a worthy object of your affection. Nice job!

Land Speed Record Aero
Greetings: I have a similar scooter to yours - 87. I installed the Polini kit. I spent an evening smoothing and widening the intake "snorkel" with trusty Roto-Zip tool. Some time I'll get around to posting Photos. Carb and reeds are stock, tuning ongoing. I have a Keli HSV with 9g weights....

Plastic Money
Greetings:
I'm well aware how lucky I am to have found an Aero with mostly intact plastic. They wouldn't cost much more if they were made of Platinum.

Gratitude
Greetings: Noisy, MadDog and Evil1, you are the greatest! Thank you!! :D I didn't plan on messing with the fronts for now. As long as rear preload is adjustable, extending the shock length is what I'm after. Longer stroke, softer springs... One last :?: : There is no issue with the bracket, b...

DIsappointing Results
Greetings: You signed up for a dip in their tank. They obliged. You got what you paid for. There's nothing to complain about. If you had just scraped some of the gasket material and insect abodes off before you sent the parts, you would have had a better outcome. Live. Learn. Organic materials and s...

Time For A New Gear Swap Thread?
Greetings: Simplify. Tranny has 3 shafts. Let's name them: 1. Drive - has clutch on outside end, small gear inside case. 2. Countershaft - 2 gears, bigger one -2a- is pressed on and mates with Drive. Smaller gear -2b- is machined into shaft, mates with Axle. Whole thing spins backwards. 3. Axle - bi...

Cleaner Carb
Greetings:
Beware WD 40 residues. Clean with solvent, lightly oil with 2-stroke, wipe clean.
Or you could save precious storage space and let the carb soak in the bucket until spring... It oughta be almost completely clean by then!
YMMV

SE50/SA50 Gear Swap Concise
Greetings: It may be time to simplify. Reading through eight pages of sometimes contradictory information did not provide reliable step-by-step information. I'm going to look for a used rear cover with which to experiment. If I find one I will chronicle my own gear swap - see new Performance Tech th...
