Re: SA50 Plastics Available

Greetings: As promised, here's the installation. F9OldNew.jpg If there's a color difference, I can't tell even side by side. The new one had sort of a water-mark in a bubble-wrap pattern that came off with a light rubbing compound treatment. Full-frontal nudity: F9Naked.jpg Sharp eyes will note my a...

Greetings:

For reasons known only to Honda-san, the tank nipple size changed in 1987 across the line-up, including Sprees, Aeros and Elites.

Re: 87 Elite 50 rear wheel

Greetings: 1987 was a funky year. Honda continued to sell the Aero alongside the more late-80s-style Elite. The Elite and Elite S only sold in the US for that year. All three Variated AF05 engines can be fitted with a vintage 2008-2012 Metropolitan rear wheel which runs a tubeless tire. Those may st...

I recommend you check compression before and after a few CCs of oil in the top end.

Re: SA50 Plastics Available

Greetings: I had a chance to perform a more thorough inspection. The vendor is located on Montreal's south shore. F9ScooTunLogo.jpg That looks like one angry bunny. The price was reasonable. F9ScooTunPrice.jpg converted to U.S. Dollars. The Taiwan origin is confirmed. F9ScooTunOrigin3.jpg The look i...

SA50 Plastics Available

Greetings; It's been months, but ScooterTuning finally emailed me that the SA50 covers are back in stock. :geekdance: The red one I got says Taiwan, the plastic seems of comparable quality to stock, and best of all, it's not repaired by a person without talent. (Me,,,) I'll post more once I get a Ga...

Re: 1994 Honda SR Elite KickStarter Assembly

Greetings: Slop in the kicker develops eventually. The hole through the aluminum cover wears more quickly than the steel kickstarter shaft. Sloppy kicking - failing to engage the mechanism before kicking DOWN - WithOUT letting the lever come up a little - postpones wear. If you can find the replacem...

Re: Elite SB50 Gas tank de-rusting

Greetings: I can't see vinegar harming plastic. Tap-tapping with a hand-held impact screwdriver might get the gauge off? https://www.amazon.com/Powerbuilt-Extractor-Slotted-Phillips-Screwdriver/dp/B004QO9FK2/ref=asc_df_B004QO9FK2/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312003160272&hvpos=&...

Re: 2001 Honda Elite Newbs 1st Scooter

Greetings: My Polini worked best with a #90 main. I'd advise AGAINST drilling the pilot. As long as you have Noisy's filter well-oiled, the small-ish pilot isn't an issue with the sport cylinders. Do get a temp gauge and confirm this holds true with Malossi Iron as well. I recommend 9.1:1 gears. Tak...

Re: 2001 Honda Elite S (De-restricted): Aftermarket Carb Suggestions Anyone?

Greetings: Unless you are willing to change the intake manifold and run a pod filter, there isn't much that fits in the stock carburetor's snug surroundings. It was about 15 years ago when I found an Amal/Arreche 17.5mm carb that did fit the stock intake and box. You could try searching that with Ho...
