Re: Finally got a dio of my OWN!
If your fine with possibly finding another motor later then by all means go for it. Nothing lasts forever, and it's just a given that the more you deviate from stock, the less reliable it will be. A stroker will run for a while with good tuning and good oil. In general taiwan parts aren't known to l...

Re: Idle jet question
I use a pencil to get the tubes out, the jet just unscrews.
Although I only take out the main tube and the main jet, I heard the idle jet is flimsy.
Cleaned it like that many times, no problems yet.

Re: Heavy Duty Rear Spring for Spree??
Those performance shocks are often wider (or the adjustment collar on the bottom stick out) and they really hinder tire clearance. All my friends with aftermarket shocks have grooved tires.

Re: Finally got a dio of my OWN!
As far as rebuilding things when they blow up, you can always throw a new bore on the top, but once you cut that crankcase for a stroker, there is no going back.

Re: Idle jet question
I know it's tempting when things seem really blocked + dirty, but I NEVER use metal while cleaning my carb. Carb clean + compressed air.CaptDan wrote:: Make sure the sub-atomic-diameter port between the ByStarter bowl and main carb bowl is CLEAR. If it isn't, ream the sucker out with an .013 gauge gtar string.

Re: Trailtech Vapor Gauge Install
Well as far as bike tach's go, here's a little bit on how it works: When you first install a cyclocomputer on a bicycle, you have to enter the circumference of the wheel in millimeters. With that information, it can compute how far and how fast you've gone with every turn of the wheel. In this instr...

EDIT: I'm wrong, dont wanna spread misinformation
To be sure, check the engine stamp (on the trans cover, the very rear of the engine below the shock) or post a picture of it.

Re: New Workspace
Any words of advice on how to set up a work space? I'd also like to see other people's pics. One thing I don't like is that the chair is a little low to work at the bench, and a little high to work on the scooters. My back hurts a little. Build a table to set your bikes on top. You'll be able to ge...

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 250R
It will beat most cars, gets 50+ mpg, has a comfortable riding position, and I'd assume due to the light weight it should handle pretty well also. Unfortunately all the squids on sportbikes will laugh at you, as will 95% of the general public. Sure it's more than they can handle at 10/10'ths, but th...

Re: Trailtech Vapor Gauge Install
aha, is the speedo calculated from the tire runout, like a bicycle speedo? the dude at the MC store here had no clue, he said the tach was driven off of the wheel speed sensor. ????? tach off wheel speed, wow sounds like a moron.. You can use a bike speedo as a tach, it's all about the number...

Re: Blow Out!
Centrifugal force will keep a large tire "inflated" (or at least it doesn't lose it's shape) unless you have an extreme blowout and the tire rips itself to shreds.
Only blowouts I've ever seen are people burning rubber
