Re: AF05e Wont Stay Running
if you need something to clear the small ports on your carb, I like using a bicycle brake cable. fray out the end and pick the biggest strand that will fit in the port/hole/tube you are trying to clean. you can even use 2-3 twisted back together. I save old brake cables just for carb cleaning. fun f...

Re: 89 Honda Elite LX fuel leak
That explains why it is leaking, partially. The fuel petcock is definitely broken. Replace it. In conjunction, the float needle ALSO is suspect. Even when the the petcock flows without engine running, the float needle SHOULD stop that flow. I agree with Mike 1000% you have 2 issues petcock stuck op...

Re: HOW TO: Convert 1985+ NB50 to Disk Brakes
I thought I posted pics of the caged bearings but I didn't, I'm gonna make a parts list at the end cool. the caged bearings are so much nicer to keep track of than 36 individual ball bearings. I think you and I had talked about the bearings in text. but I didn't see it here so I thought id add it. ...

Re: HOW TO: Convert 1985+ NB50 to Disk Brakes
another thing to add to this is the zx and other japan scooters have the neck bearings caged. not loose like our us scooters. the caged neck bearing will fit in our US cups and work just fine. and theyre easier to keep track of than the loose ball bearings.

Re: opinions on best variated AF05e big bore kit
the metrakit and the zeta racing kits are my favorite kits so far. the polini is a good kit but the 9800 rpm is a bummer. and that's after 2 gaskets. I might try to raise the exhaust a mm when I get some time and see if that helps anything. I also want to put a 90/90 on it cause currenyly I only hav...

Re: 84 nb50 aero outer variator sheave ideas needed
ive swapped them all around just to see whats up. I swapped a variated af05e into my chopper spree and wasn't happy with its performance. thought there should have been more. I noticed them all having different part numbers. except the 84-85 nq50 was the same and 86-87 nq50 had another #. and 84nn50...

Re: 84 nb50 aero outer variator sheave ideas needed
lol. watch, the first gen cdi is faster then the rest. close second is the nn50 gyro. the second gen aero cdi doesn't like advancing the timing at the flywheel. the first gen can take a good amount of advancement with no issues for me. engine wise, the ab07 likes the advancement more than the af05e ...

Re: 1984 Aero 50 Compatibility
check my thread on the outer sheave mods. theres a wealth of info on the trans mods ive successfully made. id almost bet my blue 84 aero is one of the fastest AB07 on the board, past or present. partly due to the big bore i installed. the af01 lead engine has the same bore stroke 40x39.3. different ...

Re: 84 nb50 aero outer variator sheave ideas needed
whats up man. figured id post here so the info might help others down the road. a 90/90 tire fits fine with the stock shock, if you have a wider aftermarket shock, you need to put a washer/spacer behind the upper shock mount to space it out. im running an aluminum rim on a dio/ruckus hub. i had to p...

Re: Honda Elite headlight switch
yeah only hook power to bulb with blue wire or white wire. not both. also need to swap the power to the switch from ac to dc. i think its the yellow wire from handle bar switch needs to be plugged into the black plug/terminal junction behind headlight in your headset. I used the blue wire from handl...

Re: Where to buy-- Starter 1985 Honda Gyro
the problem is gyro engines are different from all the rest. i actually think i remember that an af05e starter bolted up with the same # of teeth. differences were the positive terminal was in a different place and when energized it spun backwards or some s*** like that. its been a couple years sinc...
