Yes it is plug n play. One cable to carb other cable to oil pump.

I ran without the reed stop with Boyesen reeds on stock reed block and really cannot say i felt any difference in performance.

New bearings will add a little more resistance since the bearings are not worn out and are probably packed with grease but it shouldn't be "rough"

My wife hits 47 mph on her SR with only an aftermarket variator.

Might be the oil pump leaking and now that you got it started it will need to burn out the oil.
