Re: the jog

Yes, the Jog is worth building up. The Jog (92-01) is basically the same engine as the bug-eyed Zuma. Less weight and a lower COG mean more fun on the Jog. The bug eyed zuma is vertical I think until 2002 and up. The "bug-eye" reference addresses a specific body of zumas, the 2002-2011 zu...

Honda or ebay sell them, look for belt cover gasket or transmission gasket.

Re: Battery recommendation for spree used daily and kept out

Avoid lead acid batteries for a campus bike, it will probably be on its side at some point. AGM with a reputable brand. Most batteries will be fine with daily use, pull the battery and keep it inside for extended leave like winter break. Research what brands are available near the campus and what ea...

This maddogs aero. I also have ordered parts from "the dog" :imo: maddog has not contributed any useful information on this forum since late 2008. But he is scooter OG and deserves some respect. X3 on buying parts and giving respect. But maddog was giving quality advice this last ...

Get a multi-speed model. Battery powered is handy for small jobs but go corded for big jobs.

Which impact wrench are you getting?

Plugging the muffler outlet of a stock spree should kill it in seconds when idling.

Re: tell me the tale of the honda express

Some of the performance pipes will not fit with the stock center stand.

All are two stroke. Express, express ll, urban express, urban express deluxe, express SR, and Iowa models. Belt drive, chain drive, two speed, cvt, 6 volt, 12 volt, points, pointless ignition, and many other changes.

Moving the questions makes following the build easier, because the reader can focus on the build instead of the chatter.

Re: 2 strokes are coming back?!

Aftermarket companies buy factory direct and hop them up as high as 300 for public sale.

Our drag sled is around 360, naturally aspirated 2t triple power.

Re: 2 strokes are coming back?!

Yes, Arctic Cat sells factory installed turbo 4t with a claimed 177hp at the crank. Yamaha sells dealer option turbos and blowers on the 4t triple, I have not seen a claim for their hp. My guess it that it is lower than AC because yamahas don't burn as many belts. For 2014, yamaha will be buying som...

Re: 2 strokes are coming back?!

Wheelman, You know your history well but I am referring to your earlier comment regarding modern snowmobiles. Our current problem isn't lack of power, it is lack of reliably transmitting the power. Blowing $180 belts from stock power is annoying. Shredding $240 belts from aftermarket power is even w...

bushpigwillie wrote:So you have to turbo charge to get a 4t to match normally aspirated 2t. Sounds like 2t is still the better power unit!
No, the turbocharged 4t meets emissions and spanks the natural 2t.

Re: I want an Af05e in my spree but I am confused?

4 bolt intake variated af05e in the USA means (Honda nomenclature) 1986-87 nb50 aka aero 50 1987 elite 50 aka se50 1988-1993 elite 50 (except elite E or ES) aka sa50 (not sb50) The se-50 and se/50 is a catagory the venerable Wheelman111 invented to have a single reference for all of the above engine...
