Re: Honda Part numbers

This site has models for various countries. http://www.bike-parts-honda.com/pieces-promo-3649-13GAHN11--1992-E__0900-.html Select the English/US flag from the home page, then try searching for your model. Once you find the correct fiche you have to be sneaky to find the part number. Make a note of t...

Re: Compression test on non-running elite

A previous post dealt with the compression and spark tests that I had performed; you had replied with a suggestion to clean the carb...my questions are:1) does the bystarter not being (hooked up) electrically cause the bike not too start? Too much gas? It should not prevent the bike from starting i...

Re: Honda Flush anyone ever heard of one?

the translations are funny. For example "high power and liter 100Km of 4 horsepower (30Km/h fixed area travelling test value) with actualizes the fuel economy which is said low." I'm quite fond of: "Because of this, the HONDA scooter series became 11 types, furthermore became somethi...

Re: AF05E crank fits an elite e case

Great information 'jamz The only thing is, by the time you've bought the crank, variator assembly, suitable transmission cover, and maybe new clutch then split the engine, wouldn't it be just as easy and similar cost-wise to just buy a Dio engine and do a swap? Of course fabbing the engine mount may...

Re: Honda Flush anyone ever heard of one?

It is supposed to be 50cc water cooled according to current owner. I am waiting on the go ahead to buy. According to Honda Japan there were at least 3 scooter models that used the AB19E engine. They were the Flush (FX50) the FlushS (FX50MSD) and the Tacty (NH50D). The 2 Flush models had similar bod...

Re: Replacing starter brushes on 1984 Gyro

A cheaper alternative might be to Google for a motor rebuilding shop nearby. Go in with the old brushes to see if they have a match. Sometimes you may not be able to find an exact match, but there may be one with the same height and width, but longer length, that can be filed down to size. The graph...

Re: Boost Port - porting guide - HELP :)

Its generally thought that keeping the fuel intake smooth with no rough edges or sudden turns that may create turbulence is best, but that the surface should be slightly rough and not mirror polished. Supposedly this aids in fuel vaporization i.e. reduces the time for fuel deposited on the surface t...

Twist & Go Magazine Scooter Tire Review

FYI I came across this info while searching for a replacement tire. Its off another forum and I can't verify it directly with Twist & Go Magazine since its subscription only. Anyway, here it is FWIW. Here are the basic test results from the giant comparison tyre test, in the Twist & Go Magaz...

Metric Tire Size Data

Last year ISO released some draft standards for tire sizes. It contains some handy information if you are thinking about potential tire swaps or diameter/gearing changes. Here's a table extracted with our wheel size range. http://clivewoodhouse.co.cc/images/20100714-vih-83kb.jpg Also, across in the ...

Re: Gaskets

I have started scanning the gaskets I have and sending them to the Moderators. I believe some of them have even made it to the Wikispreedia pages. The page is pretty rough, but we have a place to put/find scans. Present are Fishman's scans - AF05 intake gasket, AF16 Nikasil bore kit base and head g...

Re: Gaskets

Maybe there's a forum member who has a set of gaskets for the SB50 and would be willing to scan them. That way you could trace them onto gasket material form Autozone, O'Reilly's, etc. and cut your own. A few months ago there was a thread concerning the idea of posting gasket scans. If they were pos...
