Re: Technique for Breaking the Bead on a Tubeless Tire

Greetings: The one downside is that Clive's upstairs neighbor suddenly complained of the sudden appearance of a hump in the floor... :) Thanks for the good tip! Also works for adding an extra storey/floor to the humble abode. Another 100 or so tires and I should have a view property. http://www.hon...

Re: Seat restoration

If the vinyl is rated for marine use, it means its a heavier grade with some UV resistance. Go to your local fabric store and compare the regular upholstery vinyl to the marine grade - you'll see the difference. I've stitched up 3 seats so far using marine vinyl and they hold up very well. One is at...

Re: Starts & idles, won't rev

Sprees especially really like to have the full airbox setup. Its advisable to keep an eye open for the bits you are missing on eBay or add a wanted post on here.

Technique for Breaking the Bead on a Tubeless Tire

After struggling with the rear tire on my CH150 Elite I thought I would share this with you. I generally have little trouble with tube tires. As long as you make sure that the tire bead is angled inside the rim depression on the opposite site, its generally fairly easy to stretch them over the rim. ...

Some time back the forum database had to be rebuilt and the existing members all got switched to that particular sign-up date for some reason.

Re: just bought a 1986 honda elite 150

Unless the previous owner told you that it was done recently, its a good idea to change the oil in the crankcase and also the transmission. SAE 10W-40 is recommended by Honda for both. The crankcase oil should be changed every 500 miles. I use full synthetic. For refill at change the capacities are:...

Re: too High Octane?

The primary reason for using high octane is to prevent pre-ignition (sometimes called pinging in cars) that can occur in HIGH COMPRESSION engines. There's no more power in higher octane than lower. Unless your Spree has been shaved or modified with a high compression head there's really no reason to...

Re: honda spree fork disassembly

I could remove them on my SB50.

I believe the SB50 and Spree use the same fork setup. There are snap rings under the dust boots on the forks. When those are removed the shocks just slide out.

Re: honda spree still wont start-or run

No carby No starty! Actually if you prime the engine it should at least fire. It won't stay running after the prime is gone but it should fire off. I'm not so positive about that Bear. There has to be enough negative pressure to get sufficient fuel vaporization and with no carb its pretty iffy. May...

Re: Cordless Impact on crank and clutch bolt

Yeah I am talking about the nut that holds the flywheel on, I just don't want to screw up the threads on my crank Its not advisable to tighten the nut using an impact wrench. So if you're not tightening there's little danger to damaging the thread. The real danger is causing a shift in the crank co...

Re: Question: What size Elite is this?..

That's a CH250. An awesome scooter using a 4-stroke water-cooled engine - same as in the Reflex.

Its a steal for $250 if there a no major problems and its got papers (where's that envy icon when you need it).
