Re: 4 stroke roketa running issue

Whats the model and cc's of the Roketa? You could have a carb with a bad CV diaphragm. Try looking into the intake without the airbox tube attached - one of those dental type mirrors often helps since the carb faces directly backwards under the seat pan. Gradually increase the throttle and see if th...

Re: After 2 freagin years...I'm pleased to present: Proteus!

It's strange how hard it is to turn off that "ok, what does it need next..." switch in your brain. Especially when it's trashed when you start with it, because there's never been a time when it didn't need something. You know though.......... red decals on the side and front would look re...

Re: Microscope photos

Awesome idea Mousewheels. Makes me wish I still had access to a cell culture/transgene lab Especially like the float needle tip - good demonstration of how careful you have to be when inspecting them. Now if you could just get the seat both pre- and post- polished! Idea for new pictures - how about ...

Re: Honda Aero repair

The petcock is sealed by an o-ring. If you are looking for a non-Honda replacement the best type to get is Viton due to its excellent fuel and heat resistance. The same would apply to the sender unit seal but I don't think Viton sheet is all that easy to find for cutting your own. If using plumbing ...

Re: Mangled drive shaft splines

A Dremel type rotary tool with a very small diamond grit tip may be your best option. A round tip with a diameter a little smaller than the spline width would be best. Something like this matched to the size of the splines: http://www.widgetsupply.com/dremel/7103.jpg You could try Widgetsupply if yo...

Re: Turning off the fuel line

Ok, so if I pull the fuel line and gas gushes out should I just be patient because it's just residual juice and it won't keep running or should I clamp her down? No patience required. Any more than a trickle that stops after 2-3 seconds and you have a bad petcock. Point the fuel line into a contain...

Re: Turning off the fuel line

The petcock is screwed onto the base of the gas tank - it will have a flying saucer shape with 2 lines coming off it. You can't turn it off. It is controlled by vacuum from the intake. Suction with the engine running opens it, no suction with engine off closes the diaphragm. Just follow the fuel lin...

Re: throttle problem

so as the fuel line went down, the fuel filter was laying sideways and could only fill up half way. i cut more fuel line off to have the fuel filter be pointing straight down, is what im saying. If you have the correct kind of fuel filter its position should not effect how it fills in my experience...

Re: Turning off the fuel line

You could get a little fuel coming out of the line when disconnected from the residual still in the line. If you get any more than an eggcup full when the engine is not running it means your petcock is stuck open or the petcock diaphragm is damaged. You can try flushing the petcock with spray carb c...

Re: Mangled drive shaft splines

Trafficjamz is right. The pulley is a softer alloy than the crankshaft, so there is a good chance you could clean out the splines. They usually get damaged by a poorly torqued shaft nut that allows the steel front pulley gear to spin on them. http://clivewoodhouse.co.cc/images/20100504-690-25kb.jpg

Re: norrin goes under the knife

right, but it doesnt look like there are nuts and washers on that puller. it looks like its intended to thread into the bit itself. i found a tusk crackcase splitter but its $45. Here's what you get in the set: http://toolsandmore.us/ProductImages/oem/27019.jpg The threads are just standard size so...

fightingplankton wrote:no threads on drive gear.
Then what are the bolts on Honda's puller supposed to go into?

There should be slots in the oval holes at the back of the gear that nuts and washers on the pair of long bolts will slip into.

Re: Wider wheels and tires on elite?

Search the forum. There have been several threads about this. You really need specific information about each individual tire model since even with the same specified size they can differ in width and diameter enough to make a difference in fit. Wheelman-111 has discussed some combinations and used ...

Re: norrin goes under the knife

Try your local Autozone loaner program. Pay a refundable deposit for the tool - get it all back when tool returned. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/inourstores/lat/latLanding.jsp?bodyContent=pullersSpecialized I think the harmonic balancer puller will do it. They don't specify the max bolt spacing,...
