Re: 1989 honda elite side panel removal help please

Yeah the lock cylinder just engages a forked arm... Its fairly chintzy.
Try taking off as much as you can from the rear. Don't forget the fastener at the top of the tail light.

Something in the garage will be sold to make room for this VTR250.
Very cool find there!

Re: Ultimate sleeper street drag build

Hahaha, yes do it. I got an extra 36 volt motor laying around, I've been wanting to make an electric drag scoot but don't have time. I'll give you my motor, supposedly you can give a 36v motor 60 volts and hit 40 or so, but fast electric motors have lots of torque down low. I've been thinking about...

Thanks, I'll check that out, bones.
The pipe sounds pretty nice, and apparently this thing does about 42 mph according to the previous owner.
Did I mention its got 1000 original miles on it?

Got my first Tomos!

This popped up on CL this morning, so I jumped at the deal. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qKszFm0LzQ0/Vl-nAxUv-uI/AAAAAAAAAX8/UIMSLIcigsI/s1600/IMG_0072.JPG Its a 2000, A35, two speed auto. Got it for $250 with a title. Starts and runs but needs a major carb cleaning or replacement. And a throttle cable...

Re: CH80 Clutch woes...

Been dashing around town on it every day with some 2-up runs to the store etc. The clutch still feels perfect and is silent in its engagement.

A BIG thumbs up to JW Parts Plus for their AMAZING and quick service.

Re: CH80 Clutch woes...

AWESOME performance continues from this current setup. 15 mile trip 2-up and no ill performance from the drive/clutch. This has been a long, hard victory. Thankful to have it hopefully fully solved. I've lost one or two mph on the top, but man the 8.5 rollers and a dab or two of grease have really m...

Yes building one's own "kit" can be frustrating.
Thanks for all the scooter eye candy, man!

Re: CH80 Clutch woes...

Still no clutch noise, took a quick spin this am. Man its pulling hard! Really excited to put some miles on it, but I must admit I'm nervous about any 2-up riding. Its great having the clutch actually grab and hold! I recommend the JW Parts Plus clutch reline for anyone! Awesome mod and totally wort...

Re: CH80 Clutch woes...

UPDATE I got the newly relined clutch set in today. Put in along with new prima 8.5 gram rollers and a new Erlandson kevlar belt. The performance so far is ASTOUNDING! Much firmer take-offs with no noise so far! The thing rips now. The acceleration is so vastly improved its crazy. The reline job loo...

I'm right in the center of FL, in Eustis. About 20 miles or so north of Orlando.
Its chilly today considering two days ago we had to run the AC all day.

I just made a big pot of chili. With a fresh ghost chile thrown in! 8)

Re: Son of a....

Well d***. I went for a pack of smokes this AM and its 40f out!
I was shocked, so I had to drive the car.
I've got several trees worth of wood to burn, so now I'm looking forward to that.

Good scooter building weather... Maybe its time I break out the old Derbi's I've had sitting in the back.
