Before I had the machine work the restricted elite went 25 mph slowly but smooth, now it just bogs and can't get going. Will porting and polishing intake pull in too much gas making it real rich?

It has a new air filter and inlet looks good. the jet looks o.k. (jet is an 85) but the emulation tube looks like it was forced out using something metal, i tried the carb off my spree and it acted the exact same way. The reed valves look good. The intake has been ported and polished and exhaust por...

what causes flooding?

1987 elite se50p is running way too rich, I left exhaust loose at cylinder to see if muffler was clogged. Gas and oil comes out of the cylinder exhaust port. It won't idle but it will start and stay running (badly) if I give it throttle. I've cleaned carb several times. Can petcock, bystarter, or id...

piston ring how-to in technical documents

I read the "how to change your piston rings" in Technical Documents. I ran into small problems recently and wanted to comment. The rings have really small letters or numbers on them....these face up. The darker ring goes on bottom and it's a good idea to put it in the first groove then dow...

I spent $90 for high-po cycle shop to port and polish intake, port exhaust port on cylinder, and shave head. At least I know it's right and I didn't screw anything up. The shaved head was a used one they had, it costed $0. By the time you buy a dremel and bits it would in my opinion be better to tak...

Dont you just remove the 10mm bolt that goes through kickstart lever and then slide lever off shaft? The rest of the kickstart assembly stays in the case. You may have to remove front pulley to get starter pinion gear out, it just sits in place (pulls out)

I already put new rings on it. so I took it apart and took reed valve, cylinder, piston, and head to cycle shop. The piston had "25" stamped on top, this means it has been bored and the piston is oversized. My elite is a 1987 and the "next size over" piston is from a 1994-2001 el...

I had my head shaved, exhaust port ported, and intake ported and polished. Can't get elite to run good. compression is 55-60 psi. I double checked rings and everything, all good. So a head gasket can be put on upside down? Which way is up?

This is EVILONE. Are you the guy who didn't want my Spree because it needed an ignition cylinder and you would have a hard time selling it? I would have taken less $. I've been cruising around all day on it. Oh well. But why would you want to buy it to sell it?
