Re: about to throw my 86 spree in the garbage

170 psi is a bit high, I'm trying to find a new head gasket that is either .25mm or .75 because I only have .5's and one gasket is too thin and 1mm is too thin. I am trying to get a pipe but there are none for sale right now. I want the MLM pipe, but they are out of stock and I can't find a used one...

Re: about to throw my 86 spree in the garbage

*lowered the exhaust port It has 150 miles on the bbk, the main is 102 and runs like a champ with the needle in the middle notch, I'm running it one step richer for now though to help with lube and maybe heat from the compression being so high. if I adjust the carb down to below 1 1/2 turns it start...

Re: about to throw my 86 spree in the garbage

The rebuild i did Saturday was using the bbk but it has already been broken in. I lowered the exhaust because i wanted more low/ mid range. I also machined a 7 degree squish pad on the head to handle high compression better and give me .9mm squish clearance. Anyways, i have a 42 pilot jet on a oko 2...

about to throw my 86 spree in the garbage

OK here goes. About 6 weeks ago I trade friend of a friend some labor for a totally stock honda spree, which I have been wanting for a long time. It's been in storage for a while and we dig it out and it starts on the first kick on a fairly cold day. I ride it over a long weekend, to the tune of 200...

Re: Ultimate sleeper street drag build

I have a couple 2 strokes that are fun, but I was looking for a bit more of a muscle car type feel, goes it a straight line like a mof, but that's about it. Like I said I want it to be a bit more of a sleeper and I feel like with a 2 stroke, it would be more noticeable, but I might be over thinking ...

Ultimate sleeper street drag build

Ive been wanting to play on peoples' misconceptions about what scooters can do. I want to build a scooter around a pretty stout 200cc + gy6 motor and put it into an either less than promissing chassis (I have a 92 razz that i got for 50 bucks) or a reallt girly scooter (read light blue yamaha vino/ ...

Re: NCY Low-Down Shock on spree ?

Well, change of plans. I am a bicycle mechanic as my day job and I have a bunch of old parts that I have collected, so I am going to take an old Fox Racing Shocks air shock that I have had lying around and make it work. It has the right eye to eye that I was looking for (if I add a bracket) to lower...

Re: NCY Low-Down Shock on spree ?

I don't need performance dampening, I just want it not to no try to buck me when I hit a pebble. With my new carb, the stock spring is awful close to the intake, as is. hmmm

Re: Finished top end build, won't start.

I got the motor broken in and its totally been worth all of the headache. The Bbk did exactly what i was looking for. The mid range got quite a pick up. I still need to tune some WOT jetting/ needle possition, but i love it. Too bad it was 25 degrees this morning or i would ride it to work. Next is ...

Re: Finished top end build, won't start.

i screwed with it for 45 minutes this morning and nothing. Then I raged for a while. My wife came out to help because my legs were getting tired. She kicks it 3 times and vroom. I let it die, she kicks it one more time and vroom. I have no idea what was wrong still, but I knew I married that woman f...

Re: Finished top end build, won't start.

the lady said the starter was burnt out and the had tried a couple batteries with it, so i yanked it and the battery. I stuck a drill on the starter pinion and im using that now because my legs are tired. it sparks right at the timing mark every time it goes around. at this point, with the flame spi...

Re: Finished top end build, won't start.

The piston is facing the right way, the plug is wet. I just let it sit for a bit and kicked it and about a foot of flame shot out the pipe but it didnt turn over. when i bought it 2 weeks ago it ran like a top, i put about 150 miles on it in a long weekend and then it sat for a week before I rebuilt...

Re: Finished top end build, won't start.

the bowl is full of fuel, I bought clear fuel lines and I can see that they have fuel in them.

Ive tried priming the carb, and I don't know what else to do. I've given it 100+ kicks and no signs of life so far today. No puffs, no nothin.
