Re: 86 spree slipping

Okay I put the new belt on and had the spree actually driving for its first time in 25 years. Well after 51 miles exact the belt is almost completely worn again. I live in a very hilly are, its a 18 hole really nice golfcorse with tons of steep inclines. i got home and decided to give it check and s...

Re: NQ50 87 spree 16 MPH WOT HELP!

It seems as if she's not revving up properly. It just seems to have about 1/2 the HP she should be making. How hard is it to replace the pistons and redo the top end? I see kits on ebay going for $45 on up but not sure if its difficult to do or not. I actually got a new NGK plug and gapped her prop...

Your clutch shoes could be glazed over, or you belt is worn.

Re: Riding at Night

Just do the H.I.D. mod to your headlight and install a rear BRAKE blinking kit. I would really suggest learning to do night driving in a car or a faster bike/motocycle. That way you can get out of those crazy cagers way. A really loud horn that would scare someone stupid. Most importantly is just be...

Re: 86 spree slipping

OK so sounds like you need to replace the belt and then service the driven pulley. On the spree that rear driven pulley doesn't "shift" so to speak like a variated trans does. If the center spring isn't strong enough and or the pulley isn't sliding properly it won't take up the slack in t...

Re: 86 spree slipping

Did you put a bigger jet in that carb? I'd that is the 68 jet in that carb, that scooter will not likely go anywhere. Did you put a little extra two stroke oil in the tank. Did you heat cycle yet. Are you following break in procedure? It's hard to see if the belt is loose in the video because it mi...

86 spree slipping

I can hit 25 easy on flat ground with a crap takeoff. Having to kick it off to go, but any uphill riding is an instant stop and high revving with me rolling backwards down the hill. I noticed it looked like the clutch was engaging at a higher rpm and the belt felt like it was slipping. Any advice wo...

Re: My hobby interest

Of course you are welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear of the dyslexia and tremors, I hope they subside or become manageable. The violent outburst could possibly have come from some type of suppressed resentment, surfacing when you were frustrated, I am sure a shrink would tell you to search your pa...

My hobby interest

Im not sure if this is OK to talk about in this section but I needed a ventish. So I have been having trouble doing basic life things like writing, putting a key in a lock, typing. I used to be able to type 90 words a minute the proper way, but since my dyslexia and tremors have started to worsen I'...

Re: High pitched noise/bogs down

Might be a bad crank bearing, but I would wait for at least 2 more people to respond. Wait to keep that big bore off until you find it or you might have to order new gaskets. If you soak the base gasket in 2 stroke oil thoroughly before installing it, you can pull the cylinder over and over again. ...

Re: High pitched noise/bogs down

Hey guys, I have an 85 Spree that was running great, but one day after riding for a few minutes I started to hear a high pitched noise and the scooter bogged down (like 15mph). I thought the sound was coming from the alternator area but I could not pinpoint it. It starts up fine, but once it warms ...
