Re: 1987 Spree Bogs at Full Throttle

Is there any chance that you are using the 1985 bystarter in the 1987 carb?

Re: 1998 SA50P Resistor

I think you are right.. with the bystarter removed, the resistor is out of the circuit and you can remove it and pass it on to someone who wants it. I think the purpose of the resistor was to slightly slow the action of the bystarter, so that the fuel mixture would be richer for slightly longer duri...

Re: HELP!!! 1986 Honda Spree special edition price/value

This is a no brainer... Michigan may not care about having a Florida title, and jerz40 says it is worth no less than $1,000, so Dante9275 should save the $140 to title it in Florida and sell it to jerz40 for $1,000 including free shipping. Everyone gets what they think is a good deal, and the scoote...

Re: HELP!!! 1986 Honda Spree special edition price/value

I have twice been able to get a Florida title on a Spree with the completed Bill of Sale form that you get from the Florida tax assessors office (DMV). The buyer and sellers signatures on the form have to be notarized. The only catch is that the scooter has to have never been titled when the title c...

Re: Anyone have luck with an aftermarket bystarter?

I edited this post on 11/17/2017 as it has bad info in it. The following paragraph is not correct. The step in the 1985 carb I was looking at was cause by somebody screwing in too long a carb mounting bolt. .. thanks to mousewheels for the correction. read all the way to the end of this topic for mo...

Re: Salvage yards

Normally they are only open on Friday and Saturday starting in September each year, but they were open today. There is no indication from the highway that they even have any motorcycles or scooters, and from the satellite view all you see is the tree canopy.. you have to drive in the gate to see any...

Re: Salvage yards

Back to the yard this morning to look for a rear luggage rack for my SB50. They actually had a mostly complete SB50, but as luck would have it, I couldn't find the luggage rack. My guess is that someone took it off to get the body off, and then just threw it out in the weeds.. Searched around and fo...

Re: Bought a 97 Elite S Today

Now that you have a trailer, we need to start planning a 50 CC Honda Florida meet-up. We need to find an interesting 50 mile loop in Florida on mostly 35 mph roads.

Re: Can someone confirm a color code for me...

Babbitts lists it as Monza red R110

http://www.hondapartshouse.com/oemparts ... ge-carrier

Yet oddly motor scooter guide calls it Shasta Red:

Who has one of these to confirm it for se50_for_me?

1985-1986 TG50 Gyro Rear tires

I did a search for TG50 rear tires on this forum and found a number of posts in various places. Hopefully this new post will consolidate some of the info and also provide some new updated links. The TIRE, RR. (4.50-6) (DUNLOP) 42711-GM8-671 tires are no longer available from your Honda Powersports d...

Re: 85 spree poor gas mileage?

No.. your gas mileage may be good, and you need a longer test period. Don't expect the gas gauge to be completely linear either. You should get around 75 to 85 mpg in a stock spree when everything is right. The gas tank holds .66 gallons, so you should only get about 50 miles to a tank of gas. So if...
