Re: NH80 - Removing drive gear for crank seal replacement
that sounds like an interesting trip. glad to hear you got it handled. and that's cool you gave him a tip anyways. im sure that was a good move, probably why he had no problem showing you how to pull the crank seals by pulling yours. and im sure if you ever need to go back, he will be just as friend...

Re: How do I connect this Spree oil line? (pic)
the fitting/elbow on the tank will be hard to match, so if that elbow is not dry rotted or cracked clean and reuse it. go to local auto parts store. in the help isle, youll buy vacuum hose fitting assortment then get 2-3ft of 5/16? vacuum/windshield washer fluid hose. its cheaper and easier to pump ...

take one of those fittings out of one side and push that hose onto the other hose with fitting. looks like you have 2 union fittings. you only need 1

Re: Honda gyro Leaking Oil
I think the u shaped line is correct. it was/is clear. goes between the pump and the intake manifold. plug/cap these two nipples once line is removed. I think its 40:1 but id search for a definitive answer. can you post the # you pulled off the seal? it should look something like 5+- X 15+- X 4+-? r...

Re: Honda gyro Leaking Oil

I know people have rebuilt the oil pumps before. and from what I remember. the pumps are pretty much similar. the big difference on the gyro being its longer shaft. but the shaft diameter is thw same I believe. ill look around my mess today. Re: NH80 - Removing drive gear for crank seal replacement
question for anyone with a good explanation.. why were these aero 80's, first gen aero 50 ab07, and I believe the aero 125's a non-splined crank output shaft and work fine and don't slip yet the second gen aero 50 af05e splined crankshafts slip, strip the splines and become useless?

Re: NH80 - Removing drive gear for crank seal replacement
use a steering wheel puller. and maybe a little heat. they press on to a slight taper. like the 83-84 aero 50. theres no keyway to keep them from spinning.

Re: Big Bore with stock Intake and exhaust?
I agree with this guy^^^^. the key is to ask questions. study old posts and use the knowledge to your advantage. if you have trouble, make a thread and give all the info you can for your situation. that will net you faster more complete answers and hopefully solutions to your problems. if you big bo...

Re: Big Bore with stock Intake and exhaust?
funny how I have had the opposite reactions. ive ran many of stock or ported intakes and carbs with bigger jets. but have had terrible luck with stock exhausts. they overheat or strain the engines. after I build a big bore motor. first upgrade is to up jet. next is a new exhaust.

Re: Honda gyro Leaking Oil
ive seen people have good success with a soldering iron and metal wire mesh. the key is to only heat the surface. heating the whole piece all the way through distorts the panel

Re: Honda gyro Leaking Oil
if you cover exhaust and it still runs, that is the sign of an exhaust leak. that would also drop you top speed.
on the gyro, just make sure you close petcock after use. see if your issue persists. do you live in cali? what city? I stay in whittier.

Re: elite 125 ignition switch on my aero 50 issues
if you have a test light or volt meter. you can troubleshoot it. if not its gonna be trial and error. the scooter wires is what you fork from. red is battery, black is switched power, green is ground, and black with a yellow stripe I believe that's the colors, is the ignition kill wire. key on= conn...

Re: Honda gyro Leaking Oil
ive torn into a few of these motors. 2 of them down to case halves. the 2 strike oil pump goes into the gear case portion of the engine. not the crankcase part. I still don't understand what builds pressure in the gear case portion other than heat from the clutches and gears meshing. thr crankcase a...
