Your top speed suggests that you're running on a restricted CDI, hence the limited top speed... You really do need to get an unrestricted CDI... I really like the Dunlop TT series... I ran the TT92 on the front and loved the sticky-ness of it. They are getting harder to find as the TT93 has replaced the 92s. They are basically racing tires for the street

Did it come with the stock airbox as well? the stock carbs are designed to work well with the stock airbox and will run horrible without them.
