Re: Trailtech Vapor Gauge Install

Sorry, no install pics. The tach signal has two wires, one is ground (-) which I put to the frame. The other can either be spliced into the coil wire, or what I did was strip 4-5" of the wire, and wrap it in a coil around the spark plug wire. After that I neatly wrapped it in electrical tape. I...

Trailtech Vapor Gauge Install

Well this weekends Elite install included a sweet gauge setup known as the Trailtech Vapor. Got it for $132 shipped on eBay (make sure its the drum brake kit!). Gauge features CHT, RPM, Speed, Time and Distance traveled display. Install was relatively easy given my wiring background. Only PITA was h...

SA50 Gasket Measurements Needed

I'm in need of a few measurements from NEW OEM Honda gaskets as listed below. 1). Cylinder Head Gasket Thickness 2). Cylinder Base Gasket Thickness Please keep in mind that the gaskets to be measured will need to be in new or near-new condition as they will affect my future deck and port height. Any...

Re: To Rack or Not to Rack?

Once I get a JDM tail I plan to remove my rear rack. I see no real use for it, theres already a TON of storage on the thing.

I can also attest that the underseat storage will hold a 12 pack o' beer with the seat latched. Trust me on this :)

Re: Bar end weights?

no experience with these on a scooter (cant feel any vibration on scooters) but I did use weights on my HD. it was a 'pre rubber mounted engine' model. I think I used 12ga. deer slugs stuck into the bar ends. they worked great...its just a mass dampener...mentioned in any first year physics class. ...

I recently ordered 2 sets of rollers from scooter-assassins and they arrived from Taiwan in less than a week. I was pretty pleased.

Agreed.

Also sound like your overheating. Might want to look to see if the fan/shrouding is damaged or missing in any way. Also, what plug are you running?

My 1986 NQ50 had 12,008 miles on it before I rebuilt it. Had roughly 90psi at the time too!

Re: How to lose my business

That being said, all the shipping prices are listed (at least for me they are). Maybe it comes from growing up in HI, but I always total the parts + the shipping while price shopping. I did know the shipping prices beforehand. I had emailed Patrick to "combine" the shipping as they all we...

Re: How to lose my business

It's funny, I'd just been thinking yesterday that I wanted some parts for my bike. I had to weigh my options: Daywot with the not great communications and online ordering VT Cycles with the phone the place and hope they had what I wanted I'd messaged Patrick a few times and decided he'd get my busi...

Re: How to lose my business

$31 for shipping on items that weight a few pounds and can fit in a flat rate priority mail box, which costs around $8 is rediculous. I would have understood paying up to $14. That was exactly my thinking. $12-$15 should have easily covered shipping/a box/tape and fees. Where did the extra $16-$19 ...

How to lose my business

To say that I'm a little steamed off is an understatement. Last week I ordered a few parts from Daywot over on eBay which included a Kelly Variator, a 9.1:1 gearset and a grab spring trio. The parts themselves cost me $107, which IMO was reasonable. The shipping however was what has me T'ed off. The...

AF16 Drive Boss Dimensions

Someone from Hawaii asked me to measure up my drive boss the other day....can't remember exactly who it was. I searched around and can't find any evidence of this, so I figured I'd throw it here. Also might come in use eventually to someone else. Length = 1.304" ID = .546"-.547" OD = ...
