johnny248, have you built a two stroke E-85 yet ? How did you combat the corrosion issues ?
Any jetting information would be great.
I still think the gains would be so small that the effort is not worth it.
Why not just install a KX500 engine ? Now that gain would be noticeable.

Re: New CDIs
I built a dual CDI system to compare the different CDI's that were readily available at that time, here is a link to that project. http://motorscooterguide.net/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2904&p=17553&hilit=dual+cdi+conversion#p17553 The blue racing CDI was much worse than stock, don't spe...

Re: How Loud should the Honda Spree be?
Very bad things happen if you drive with an exhaust leak. I think he was trying to offer advise to protect your engine from seizing up. Most large towns have several guys who part out and sell scooter parts, why not just throw another muffler on and ride ? My local guys sell mufflers usually between...

Re: Scooter on Ethanol
Racing fuel is easily available it comes in leaded and unleaded, and has no corrosive effect, this would be my choice rather than try to reinvent the wheel with E-85. The go kart guys build alcohol engines and seem to do okay on the track, have not seen anyone try this for the street. Raising octane...

Swap pipes with a quiet Spree, ( preferably when your buddy isn't home ) , then act surprised when he starts his scoot.

Could you try to change the angle ? Tip the top back to make it more aerodynamic .
Or cut it down and make it smaller ?
I have shields on all mine, because I like an open face helmet.

Re: Aero Parking Brake?
It may be an anti-theft device, apply the brake, turn the lever to lock, turn off the key and now the Aero wont roll, that is how the lock works on my Aero 125.
Some older Hondas have a steering lock.

Re: Wheel banding
Bob great job on the wheel widening, that skill was very common here in Michigan in the 1960's, there are sand dunes here and in order to float on top of the sand, dune buggy guys needed wide wheels, and wide wheels could not be purchased since they didnt exist yet. Cutting and widening them became ...

Re: Budget performance boost help
Spree's are a ton of fun to ride, but the wisdon here is to enjoy them at the slow speeds that they will reliably produce. I started with about 12 Spees, bought an Aero 125, then Elite 150 and then an Elite 250, guess which one is fastest ? Yes the Elite 250 has to have insurance and plates, but the...

Re: Aero 125 piston melt-down
I sure wish there was a premium quality big bore kit available, one that comes with all gaskets, wrist pin, circlips, bearing, rings , installation instructions, torque wrench, sockets and a candy bar in the box. Yeah I know I'm dreaming, but it was a nice dream. Those nuclear meltdowns are hard to p...

Re: 1987 NQ50 Running Issues
The bystarter is supposed to add fuel ( richen the mixture ) for a minute or two, to overcome cold engine friction until the warmed up engine and pipe, can run well without the added fuel. If yours starts and runs great for a minute, then runs poorly until wide open throttle, it would be reasonable ...

" but you either have a low, mid, top, or all around pipe." About thirty years ago most every dirt bike brand had thier version of a power valve system to increase power throughout the RPM ramge, some altered pipe volume using an extra chamber, some altered port height, some did both. Does...
