Spree tire size (motormike apology)
So in another topic, Jumps suggested to me that I go with 3.75-10 tires on my Spree. Haven't been able to find that size (yet), but then I haven't searched very hard either. But I have found 3.5-10 wheels. What I am wondering though, is about the aspect ratio. The ones I have looked at thus far have...

Just bought a 48mm BBK for my Iowa Spree, have a couple ????
So I just bought the kit on eBay that chopchop*123 sells. I see it comes with a new jet. I am wondering what is the size of that new jet and should I consider a different size. Also, when I go to drill out the washer in the muffler, what size bit should I use? My next question is about grilling it t...

Re: iowa spree top speed issue
Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought Sprees didn't have a variator, just a clutch

Re: Stock Iowa Spree BBK options. + Exhaust options + CARB
The pipe is where the power is made 50/50% on a 2 stroke bike the other 50% is the cylinder. That pipe will really open that bike up and with a ported bbk it will feel like a different bike, or for the same price you can probably get a complete stock af16 with exhaust, carb, shroud, with mount and ...

Re: Stock Iowa Spree BBK options. + Exhaust options + CARB
'87 glove boxes are not really all that rare, as I think every '87 came with a glove box. You'll be replacing your front turn signals as well when you add the '87 glove box if you stick to your plan of no cutting.. and if you also mean no drilling, then you'll need an '87 leg shield, I think.. migh...

Re: Stock Iowa Spree BBK options. + Exhaust options + CARB
Yeah, I'm kinda thinking a full overhaul may be in order, not just a BBK. After sitting for 15 years, you would THINK that the elements would have gotten to it somewhat. The block, I'm assuming is aluminum, but I am guessing the rod, bearings and what have you, are all steel. I'm just wondering, bec...

Re: Stock Iowa Spree BBK options. + Exhaust options + CARB
Don't wanna do any drilling or modding at all. Except of course, to the engine. I wanna be able to pull the engine, do what I can possibly do to it, put it back in with the newly painted plastics, HOPEFULLY find very RARE things like (87') glove box, original Honda trunk. Then add universal windshie...

To get an idea of what it will tentatively look like, replace WHITE in image with HAWKEYE yellow, replace PINK with black. Add Iowa Spree logo, and OF COURSE, a cute Hawkeye hawk.

Stock Iowa Spree BBK options. + Exhaust options + CARB
So I have been eyeing the following BBK kit for my 86' Iowa Spree: http://www.ebay.com/itm/371559461859?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I do not intend to modify it so much that I would need to weld any other parts/engine and what have you, I just want to replace the s...

Re: Oil you'd rather use??
Right now I'm dealing with a bit of smoking from the tailpipe. Oil level is correct. Can't recall off hand what brand of 2 stroke oil I tossed in it to get it going. Just some cheap stuff. After sitting 15 years and no knowledge of how it was treated in the past, it's a guessing game of whether it's...

Re: Oil you'd rather use??
Gonna have to try that Castro 927.
Quick question though about oil.
The service manual recommends 10W-40 for the final reduction. Is this what I should be using, or something else?

She is doing SOO well on it. We practice every chance she gets. She wants to get real good at it because she knows once she gets that REAL permit and not the learners permit, she is getting this one to ride instead. And I get to put the Spree in the garage and start my rebuild/restore of it. All rea...

Geico just lost a customer today
I've been with them for over 10 years now and they peeved me off, so I canceled my policy and went to Progressive instead. In doing so, my rate is now over $300 cheaper a year. It all happened because of their refusal to give me motorcycle coverage because of my son Shawn. Shawn does not have a perm...

Re: ??? Anybody have a better link so I can restore this POS
So I had some awesome luck today. The DMV had told me if I wanted to get a title for the Spree, I would have to either A. get a hold of the owner on the title and have them get a new title to issue to me, or B. I would have to file for a bond on it with my insurance company and yadda, yadda, yadda w...

Re: Might purchase 1983 Aero 50, what do I need to know?
Just remember to HEAVILY emphasize the money you will have to be putting back into it when negotiating on a price. The one I recently picked up, I only paid $75 for it, but, I have already put about $180 into and I haven't yet pulled the engine (I'll do that later this summer). But yeah, $180 just t...
