Re: 2019 Honda Super Cub

A small front rack to mount a basket, or a basket mount, would be just the thing. Sounds like a business opportunity calling. On shifting stopped bike, I used to bump the clutch out while stopped and in neutral to get the gears moving, then drop it into first if it wouldn't go in from a standstill. ...

Re: 2019 Honda Super Cub

I would go with custom rear rack and panniers. But that's me. I remember these auto-shift engines. I don't recall rolling off throttle 100%, it was more like you backed off a bit and then shifted to next highest gear. Downshift was same but note you couldn't use it to slow down nearly as effectively...

Re: Lightweight Rear Rim Option for SA50

The aluminum wheel should be lighter. The reason guys chase light wheels for automotive is b/c it lowers unsprung mass, which makes the car ride better and, more importantly, keeps the tires down to track better when they're bumped... basically it's less mass for the spring to press back down so the...

Re: First Spree - the Front wheel is wobbling and seems off center suggestions?

Bent front wheels are pretty common. Sometimes means fork is bent too, so you should check that. You can see the wobble by putting the bike on stand and rolling front wheel; it will have a spot where it goes to one side or other, consistently on same spot. I've had little luck fixing bent wheels... ...

Re: New spree owner What and Where Tires

As Wheelman said, a lot of options online. I'd buy a pair of tubes and some motorcycle tire irons and replace them yourself; it's not difficult work. The 2.75 will fit; it gets close to the fork in this case.

So the dot is what designates a JIS screw? Good to know. I've a couple Craftsman JIS drivers that I keep hidden so they aren't used for phillips stuff.

Re: New 50cc scooters are now $575 in Florida

I suspected the Chinese scooters would improve in quality as purchasers got more sophisticated. Honda scooters are still expensive where I am, but I chalk it up to lack of availability.

Re: Crankcase Drain Hole

Don't drill a hole in case. Remove oil pump and flip the motor. This only happens with engines left for storage a long time; it's unlikely to repeat.

Re: 1985 or 1986 honda nb50g previous owner put motor oil in oil receptical...not 2 stroke oil.

Motor oil by itself wouldn't likely kill the engine in near term. There's an article in the wiki about barn-find scooters; read that for my thoughts on how to determine what's wrong and what it needs. http://hondaspree.net/wiki/index.php5/Getting_a_Dead_Scooter_Back_on_the_Road And yes, all mystery ...

Re: 1988 Elite Carburetor Gaskets and Fuel Petcock

If vacuum is disconnected and plugged off the petcock is likely faulty. I'd replace it; new ones are <$10 on Ebay last I checked. If carb is leaking around bowl you may need a bowl gasket; if it's leaking out of the overflow you may need a new needle valve. Outside these two parts + bystarter there'...

Re: Note for noiseguy on how to fix spammers

Let's you turn the Wanted/For Sale section into a bigger commerce then what it is. That part of the board is one of the biggest source of issues here... I can't imagine what it would be like with un-registered members. I like the idea of a guest place to ask Q's. I could actually set it to self-del...

Ah, you're saying we should also allow guest posting here? Having anon users is really opening the board up for a lot of randomness... we up for that?
