Re: Main jet recomendations?
Greetings: Presuming your temp sender is a 14mm under the spark plug, 300F. is definitely NOT a problem. It might even indicate your mixture is a bit rich, if anything, so you're leaving some power on the table. 350 or so is ideal, 380 indicates caution, and 400 is really risky. What does the spark ...

Re: Main jet recomendations?
Greetings:
Stock is 68? Go up a size at least if you're not running the stock airbox. Your bigger problem will be the Idle circuit. "Jet size" is pre-determined by whoever drilled the carb at the factory and cannot easily be upsized.

Re: left brake lowers idle speed at rest
Greetings:
Honda specs are 1800 for idle speed on AF series 2-strokes. Check your rear pulley bearings - the ones that let the driven pulley free-wheel on the clutch shaft. If they're "sticky" it might cause the symptom you describe on the center stand.

Re: fuel vacuum line
Greetings; It doesn't say where you live, but I'll bet it's hot! Carb is tiny, bowl vent allows for some evaporation, and gets to a point where the Jets can't suck enough fuel for combustion. The various lines that cover the vents on a new scooter help a bit, but I have them and have the same issue ...

Pretty sure side-marker lamps were made mandatory in 1968, making the Avanti at least that "new".

Re: Main jet recomendations?
Greetings: Sorry for elbowing in but nobody's replied to your question since yesterday. It stands for Cylinder Head Temperature (Gauge). These are plentiful and cheap on ebay and presumably other sites. You gots yer 14mm ring that mounts under the spark plug in lieu of the crush washer that comes wi...

Re: 84' Spree Won't Start
Greetings: Measure battery voltage first. It should be close to 13 on the bench. Does the engine spin freely by hand, or with a drill on the pulley nut? Do you still have your original starter? Count the teeth on the output shafts and on the Bendix. As motormike said, all Spree starters are not crea...

Greetings:
Stock or stock-ish engines should do just fine on 87 octane. Screaming high-compression engines are where you should beware. Fabrizi Flash 7 ran 100 octane low-lead aviation fuel purchased for $5.00 a gallon from the local airstrip.10 years ago. I hate to think what it costs now.

Greetings:
Before you get going, think about Stopping! 80mm drum brakes in a pressed wheel won't do much from 60 MPH. Fork swaps are a PITA but should really be the first place to start. Swap Shop should have a Formula by now. Best of luck!

Re: '01 Elite AF16 build questions for y'all
Greetings: (1.) The Corsa can handle 380, but I'd be looking carefully for (2.) an air leak if the temps rise quickly. 24 is plenty big for a 72cc carb. At one time the Hawaiians had an abundance of cheap 28mm Taiwanese OKO PWK clones so that's what they used. They provide very little (if any) more ...

Re: SA50P - To BBK or Not to BBK
Greetings: I never had much luck with the Taiwanese kits. For sure it's a good idea to get in there with a stone and chamfer the Knife-Edged ports in the cylinder before you install. If you don't, or do it poorly, it won't last long. Save your pennies and soon you'll be able to afford the Polini Con...

Re: Removed restricter and scooter drove worse
Greetings: Jetting? The P models came with a tiny Main, (68?) which if run too hard might overheat your top end. For sure won't perform well. The SRs used a 78 Main along with a cable-controlled oil pump.. Exhaust restriction or carbon buildup? Some models in some markets had a washer welded into th...

Re: Bendix binding - won't turn over
Greetings; From reading *ONLY*, there are differences in the bendix and starter assemblies between the Spree model years. These differences caused symptoms similar to those you describe. It is possible that some previous owner has swapped in the wrong Bendix. Past posts have dissected the numbers of...

Re: aero 50 with bbk polini carb suggestion
Greetings: Never tried it. Mine had the stock intake and a 17.5mm Arreche carb that fit the stock mount. Never Quite documented 60 MPH with 7.83:1 gears but super easy to tune. Several members at the time (2009?) said I shoulda got the 19. 21mm carb for 65cc might be a bit much unless ported and pip...
