Re: stock block dio project is on
maddog : this is a comment DIRECTLY to you. After becoming disgusted with your behavior on this site, particularly when Bear would get involved and call you every insulting name in the book, I decided to block your posts. It was a very good time here without seeing any of your laughable fairy-tale ...

Re: Help Diagnose top speed issue
So I marked the bottom and top of the trans as well as over by the starter bendix area. http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b506/steffen707/20130717_142029_zpsdcbf834e.jpg http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b506/steffen707/20130717_142100_zps8726d261.jpg And after full speed run with the zx trans a...

Re: Help Diagnose top speed issue
Today was toasty testing day. We have a heat advisory for Wisconsin, 90 degrees and 50% humidity. Thank god my garage is air conditioned. :) I hooked up a vacuum pump to the vacuum line connected to the petcock and applied vaccum, i capped the vacuum port on the intake and went for a run, still weir...

Re: stock block dio project is on
It might hit 60mph if you drop it off a really tall building. Or pull it behind a car with a tow strap.

Re: Help Diagnose top speed issue
Very cool wheelman, I'll have to give that a check.
Can I hook a vacuum gauge with a T to the vacuum line to see if it decreases?

Re: Help Diagnose top speed issue
I forgot to add, it was running fine at WOT from 20-30 seconds before the stumbling, and it was holding steady at 10,200 rpm. I didn't notice the engine temp spike at all, and it runs at about 300degrees so its not hot.
Maybe i'll pull the plug and check my jetting as well as the wideband test.

Re: Help Diagnose top speed issue
Well from what I read there is no rev limiter. I also swapped in another cdi, same problem. I swapped in another coil, same problem. To see if it was a speed thing when it started happening I tried slamming on the brakes then back on the throttle and it stumbled again. I think tomorrow i'll hook the...

Re: Help Diagnose top speed issue
Now I have some kinda high speed run problem. I think its ignition related because the motor didn't sieze up, runs fine after you slow down for 20 seconds or so. Below is a video of the issue. I can't see how its fuel related because the rpm stays right around 10,200 when it happens. Right around 30...

Just mic the coil diameter. The stiffness is mostly in the thickness of the wire - See Polini Springs from Flash 6 thread somewhere.

Re: Help Diagnose top speed issue
Greetings: The spreadsheet is an excellent theoretical guide to maximum potential, but belt, clutch and even tire slip subtract 5 or 10% from theoretical maximum. Stronger contra spring reduces but does not eliminate the belt slip. Soft grippy and wider back tire (90/90?) might help astern, but Jam...

There you go, PURPLE. NO idea where i got it from however, i think ebay.
I don't have a spring rate compressor, but i'll try the weight thing and then measure the height of each compressed spring.

Re: Help Diagnose top speed issue
your 9:1 gears are holding your top speed back too. i would use 8.4:1 gears or 8.0 if you want over 65mph with your setup. I know my 9:1 gears will hold back top speed, but when I calculated the max mph with the gearing on this thread, http://hondaspree.net/phpBB3/posting.php?mode=quote&f=4&...

Re: Calculating mph
your math looks like it is correct. Your assuming a .8:1 ratio from your drive to driven pulley. If you are running a zx trans, that ratio is more like 1:1 or less depending on the belt. I did all this math a while back on an excel speadsheet. http://hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=17...

Re: stock block dio project is on
Maybe he is going to put a DC motor and car battery on it . You could do it with a really large rear tire, a tailwind, a downhill slope and 7:1 gears. Maybe some bottle rockets on the bike. Stock block means just the bottom end. If thats what your referring to, several people have done it. Bbk pipe...

Torque / Contra spring colors
Okay I have some clutch springs and I don't know what they are, I have a blue, yellow, red and purple. Looking on ebay from where I bought them it appears that most sellers have 1000rpm blue, 1500rpm yellow, and 2000rpm red. However, I have no idea what the purple would be then. I might have gotten ...
