in this picture http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/2700/dsc004165.jpg you can see that the face gear is sitting too far back. on mine, the gear is flush w/ the end of the splines. in this picture http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/6269/dsc004176.jpg the washer should NOT be on the splines, it is suppose...

Re: Kick Start Not Working...
what i'm wondering, and maybe i missed it, i tend to skip over some posts... does the electric start work? if so, your splines are working just fine. to check you can just put the drive face gear on and try to turn it, if it doesnt slip...they're working. the thing i'm thinking it may be is that the...

Re: replacing the rear brake
22mm nut holds the rear wheel on. i've always had to take the muffler off to get to it w/ a socket wrench. the trick to getting it off easily, is not to stick a metal bar between the spokes and just go at it. just set the rear brake, put your socket wrench on, and smack the wrench w/ a hammer. it ha...

Re: License plates, Insurance, Helmets and general confusion
if you're out in cornville and the only police u have to worry about is sheriff McLawdog, talk to him see what he says. if you're in the city, i'd go legit. i had old plates & tabs on mine, got pulled over, cop thought i stole it, big problems. i would say "if he drives right, always signal...

Re: License plates, Insurance, Helmets and general confusion
looks like considers scooters motorcycles in your state.
http://www.dmv.ne.gov/dvr/mvtitles/motorcycle.html
so you have to treat it like you would a real bike.
easy way around this.... just weld some pedals to it. make it a moped. then its free from tax and registration.

http://moped2.org/laws/Nebraska.htm

Re: License plates, Insurance, Helmets and general confusion
speaking of helmet...i just saw a guy riding thru town yesterday on a black 86 spree...wearing an old sun-faded bicycle helmet. What is worse...there was a cop right next to him at the stop light on 7th and summitview ave. i thought it was funny cuz i didnt know if he was wearing it to protect himse...

Re: Exhaust stud looks weird ('96 SA50)
easily. put 2 nuts on the end of the stud and turn the inner one causing the whole stud to come out. actually, when i was working on my aero80, its nuts were rusted on, so getting the whole stud out and going to ace and getting new ones was pretty easy. edit: or if you're just going to replace them ...
