Re: My 1964 Vespa

:naughty: Nice! That is VERY similar to my '58 Allstate Cruseaire, which is a Vespa imported by sears. Mine's a 125cc 3-speed maniual. Which engine is on yours? I've actually been looking through the Genuine catalog, as they seem to be the best source stateside to get vintage Vespa parts... was cons...

Re: Best mount for Spree Dio swap?

The 87 mount requires the least modification, and the rubber bumper on the mount lines up with the spree frame-hole. The newer mounts are too tall and require shortening to fit properly. I wish I had pics to go with... I always forget to take pics untill everything is together...

Re: 1978 Trans Am

There is nothing " easy" or "cheap" putting a twin turbo kit on a N/A car. I wouldn't call you a stupid kid, so much as naive. And impractical. Just because you don't like the answers, you did ask for them. And they are honest. The 6.6L is a turd. Twin turbos are expensive. You a...

Re: 1978 Trans Am

The 6.6L makes 180hp, 200 if you got the w72. That is half the horsepower per cubic inch that GM was producing ten years earlier. It never really was GM's best engine. In fact, it's one of the worst. There are minivans with a better power to weight ratio than a 1978 T/A. And that corner better. Just...

Re: C70 passport chopper project

Also wanted to get a feel for the foot pegs. Kinda torn between leaving them there and being ok with them, or go to all of the work to extend them and the controls forward. Decisions, decisions. http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o210/majourlittle/IMAG0225.jpg I'm liking the build so far... have yo...

Re: METRAKIT BBK vs..???

The Corsa, Contessa and (obviously) the Malossi cast iron are all cast iron bores. The Corsa will set you back quite a bit, but is lovingly hand-ported by Guido and Luigi. The Malossi cast iron and the Contessa are on the same level as each other, the Malossi has one more cooling fin (7 to the Polin...

So Vespas are not scooters? :jack: Why must you always say such stupid, inaccurate things? I own a 3-speed manual transmission Allstate, and it is most defiantly a scooter.

Re: aftermarket fan rare?

Well, I had to go check to confirm, but my stock af16 fan is black. I thought about getting a koso fan, but the horror stories outweighed the pretty colors. I never put any more thought into it than that.

Re: MB-5 Honda woes

Welcome to the forum!

That is one clean mb5! I'm glad to hear it gets regular hard use- I can't stand when fun machines collect dust in "collections." It was made to be used! I'm glad there were no other major problems, sounds like a great excuse to freshen the ol' girl up a bit!

Re: want to build a trike

A local here in my town rides a Piaggio MP3. http://www.piaggiousa.com/innovation.html It's quite a peice of engineering. I too have a dream of a three-wheeled scooter-derived vehicle. but I'm more going for the reverse trike, with two wheels in front. but with a tad more engineering than that... th...
