Re: 85 swapping to 86
The starter bendix is different. So, you'll either need to put in the 85 starter/bendix into the 86, or if the 86 has the starter and bendix you're good to go. The wiring harness on the 86 has a quick-connect, the 85 has individual wires and connectors. That would include the bystarter (choke) conne...

1985 Aero 80 NH80 - Headlight and Tire question
Picked up an amazing condition 1985 Aero 80. Couple of questions for Aero owners: 1) Is the headlight sealed? Meaning, is it possible to change the bulb? If not, what's the fix? 2) The front tire is tubeless, and mine is flat. I believe it's hissing out of the stem. I bought a tube, not realizing it...

For sale: Spree Floor Mats, Petcock Covers, Battery Covers
I'm the Secret Santa that is making the custom rare floor mats, petcock covers, and battery covers. I didn't want to post until I had a little stash to get to everyone. I've spent well over $1000 of my own money to bring these to you. This has been a very EXPENSIVE and time consuming effort so I've ...

What ever happened to "Bear"?
What ever happened to user "Bear", the Don Rickles of scooters? I loved reading his replies. They were a perfect mix of technical help and insult. It says he hasn't logged in since 2014.

Re: Oil Leak 1999 Elite SR
+1 on leaking oil sensor. Just solved the same issue on my Aero 80.
I used a hot glue gun to seal the sensor to the tank. Kind of a hack, but seems to have stopped the leak.

Re: '88 Elite SB50P Runs Great but won't Idle
There's a tiny hole you have to clean in the bowl-half of the carb. It's pressed into a small recess. Not sure the name of that circuit, but it gets overlooked in the cleaning process. Make sure that is clean and you can see your wire poking through the other side before saying it's clean.

Re: 85 Spree hard start, wont idle.
I've purchased a few of those replacement cylinders/ring sets and they ALL suck. The rings have NO markings on them, nor is there a chrome plating to determine which is top, and which is bottom. The seller will tell you they are the same, but they are not. There is a top ring, and there is an up/dow...

Re: 86 Spree - Starts-Idles ten seconds-DIES
Get rid of the stock, old hoses and replace with some new lines from Autozone or whereever. Since you've replaced the carb and are ruling that out, you're probably not getting a good vacuum to pull fuel into the bowl. That ,or your fuel filter inside the tank is crusted over.

Re: 1985 Petcock Question
Yes, the 86 nut size is different than the 84 and 85. I believe the 86 is larger, but i'd have to look when I get home. We encounter the same issues with Aero's, Elites, etc. Hang onto that one, you might need it for your next Spree.

Re: 1985 Spree
Last year we started a page with the compatibility of parts between 85-87. Somethings, like the carb, will interchange fine, but the flywheel, petcock, cable ends are different depending on the years. Here is a link to the page where it all started: http://www.hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3...

Re: 1985 Spree
Sweet! Thanks for the compliment.
Keep us posted on your 87! And to all - don't be intimidated by a box of parts. They came apart, they'll go back together!
