Re: NEW MEMBER, NEWBIE QUESTIONS

TAZ I can bore and do sleeves as well. I have the resources of the machine shop at school however it's not for profit. I can't take advantage of the shop for personal use. Doing a bore and hone here and there is no big deal though.

Re: NEW MEMBER, NEWBIE QUESTIONS

Hey I'm all about it! I'll mail it back to you as soon as I can. I'll have to make sure we have a 44mm ball hone if not you could hone it yourself for about $22 from Fastenal. You or I will also have to chamfer the ports after the bore. I'll pm you my address.

Re: NEW MEMBER, NEWBIE QUESTIONS

It's only my opinion, I wish I could have measured it before I sold it. I some one want to donate a used stock Spree cylinder I will bore it for you for free to 44mm and see what happens.

Re: NEW MEMBER, NEWBIE QUESTIONS

TZ if you look at them next to each other you will easily see that the 44mm was only bored from a stock cylinder. I had his 44mm bbk kit on my 87 Spree.

Re: 160 PSI in my 44mm bbk

With the 85 main and 160 psi it overheated on a 5-7 minute ride. I took the head off and no damage was done. I would like to try again once break-in is done with my 95 main and only one head gasket. I don't know if I'll get a chance thought I have it on craigslist now and 2 people really want to com...

Re: 160 PSI in my 44mm bbk

Three head gaskets = 120 psi. I now run 3 head gaskets and a 95 main jet. I'm still on the break-in process. I get 32mph at half throttle. No overheating and runs sweet!I think if the piston was cast it would break in faster and be less prone to overheating.

Re: Motor Break in ?

Make sure you do a compression test. 120-130 is pretty safe for pump gas.

Re: 160 PSI in my 44mm bbk

I know you guys know these Honda's in and out so that is why I asked. Thank you for your input I really appreciate this forum. I have one tank of gas through so far. I will do 2 more tanks of break-in then I'll pull the head off and inspect my piston. I will be the first to say you were right if I s...

Re: 160 PSI in my 44mm bbk

I asked 2 HONDA certified instructors today at school before my class started. They both agreed that 160 is very safe. One even said I could go higher and have no problems. Anything over 200 would be a cause for concern. Pump gas is also fine for my bbk.
