Re: Help: Honda DJ1RR (SE50) with Dio front end

I am a bit of a hoarder so won't be selling much at this stage. I am glad I've kept and gathered some of these scooters up as now I can use all of the bits. The black Dio ZX is a genuine AF28. I will use the wiring loom from the parts/wrecked AF27 frame you see there. I won't be using its front end ...

Re: My 2001 Honda Dio Build

This is one clean build. Really like the white and black combo.

How did you get on with tuning? Is the Dio reliable and going well now? What part of the world are you in? Dios like that must be rare in the USA?

Re: ZX Dio alloy wheels restortion

I went out to my shed today and dug out an old Honda Dio AF27 front drum brake steel wheel. The internal measurement says 95.5mm It looks like the Aliexpress wheels will fit.

Who is going to be first to take the gamble and report back!?

and some other scoots waiting patiently. The drum brake Dio is a * and is only a parts bike. My other ZX there has some wiring damage but has a 70cc cylinder (not sure what brand)

Re: Help: Honda DJ1RR (SE50) with Dio front end

We don't have all the different varieties of Honda scooters in NZ. I don't know what a Honda Metro or 'G' is! We get all of the good quality JDM un-restricted Hondas like Dio, Nifty 50 and DJ1s. I believe my scooter is a genuine DJ1RR. It did have the fast AF05E engine in it. I bought it minus the e...

Re: Help: Honda DJ1RR (SE50) with Dio front end

Okay that's interesting about the stems. I have in the past used a standard drum brake stem and put disk brake front suspension legs in and it all seemed to work. Thanks for the link.

What is the difference between the AF27 drum stem and the AF28 disk stem?

Re: ZX Dio alloy wheels restortion

I haven't bought them so won't comment on the quality or fitment. I posted the link out of interest. Most of the stuff is usually very good from Aliexpress but I don't buy things like cylinder kits etc. I generally look for the branded type of stuff that shops sell. I think that you are buying the w...

Re: Help: Honda DJ1RR (SE50) with Dio front end

Well after a lot of googling. I have found out that my JDM 1987 Honda DJ1RR is a 1987 Honda Elite S/R SE50 in the USA. That makes searching the forum a lot easier. From these threads it looks like the JDM Dio ZX triple tree and front end that I have should bolt straight in. There's nothing else to d...

ZX Dio alloy wheels restortion

I haven't started on my latest project as a whole but I thought it would be cool to share the overhaul of my ZX Dio alloys and the story of getting them to NZ. These alloys seem rare in the USA but they are incredibly rare in NZ. Occasionally they will come up for sale but they're attached to scoote...
