Re: opinions on best variated AF05e big bore kit
heres a link to a metal spigot style carb adaptor. should let you mount a bigger selection of carbs to your manifold. https://www.ebay.com/itm/BB-C11-Collettore-Aspirazione-Honda-50-SP-DIO-SC01-SV-per-carburatore-PHBG/301985312268?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Ill o...

Re: opinions on best variated AF05e big bore kit
Does anyone know if it's possible to fit an aftermarket carb on the stock intake? im stuck with the two bolt till I come up with an adapter. I'm also not confident in my ability to drill out the pilot. I plan on ordering the malossi kit tomorrow

I keep going back and forth between shelling out for a carb and trying to drill the pilot out. Does anyone have any recommendations

Re: AF05 Bore Questions
I had read that you can pretty much bolt up the AF16 to the Aero, but I could be wrong, that said Im looking to do a BBK and maybe pipe then stop. Im guessing ill need a carb now or soon which is also stressing me out but im sure ill have it researched out, just need something with adjustable slow j...

Re: AF05 Bore Questions
I dont wanna sound like all i care about in regards to the exhaust are looks, but if the MLM Techno sticks out 2ft in the air, im gonna have trouble parking it in the garage. Leo Vince from Europe or Technigas from Canada still seems viable and at the end of the day id be happy with any pipe that of...

Re: AF05 Bore Questions
#1 you don't have to disable or premix with bbk. I have 1 af05 W/polini bbk on oil pump with a 20mm flatslide mikuni with expansion chamber into connected silencer, 1 af05 W/ metrakit BBK on oil pump, stock carb 98mj. modified fleabay vertical jog expansion chamber w/ turn back silencer, 1 ab07 W/ ...

AF05 Bore Questions
I know these threads have been run to death, but I had some questions I couldnt easily find the answer to. Going to do a malossi bore kit on an 85 aero 1. I assume I should just disable the oil pump. I wouldnt mind doing a fuel mix and oil pump but it seems like that might not be worth the trouble. ...

Re: 85 aero 50 crank differences?
I havent pulled the second 85 open yet, i think i lost compression on the one that was known good and running. When I pulled the variator to change belts, it looked about the same as the 86. The variators looked like the same ramp and everything. Different nut size holding the driven face, but who k...

Re: 85 aero 50 crank differences?
I cant speak for the crankshaft necessarily, but i have two 85s and an 86 if you want me to take pics of anything. I might take one of the 85s partly down to change gaskets before i do a bbk

Re: 86 Aero AF05E Mild Performance Increase
Would it be worth grabbing an exhaust and doing a rejet without a BBK? If thats all youre gonna do...no. It might give you 1-2mph gain in top speed but it wont do much else. Not worth the investment. A bbk/carb/intake/pipe,etc...would shoot you up to 50-ish, killer acceleration and able to climb hi...

NB50 resurrection
All, I posted a few days back looking for an air screw on my 85 aero "barn find". The previous owners were riding it around the back yard with no air screw and the needle clipped at the bottom. Actually ran pretty good! I moved the needle up a clip and was able to get the scew i found at a...

Re: 86 Aero AF05E Mild Performance Increase
Jet swap on your stock bike will do nothing but make it run worse. Honda did the footwork for optimal stock operation. Doing a small upjet, Im sure it will run but it will not increase performance...it will increase your fuel consumption. Find those 87’ SE50 Elite 10:1 gears for a few extra mph’s o...

Re: 86 Aero AF05E Mild Performance Increase
I read on here that getting 85 jets would help even on a stock bike? Does anyone have experience?
