Re: High-pitched noise when I go over 50kp/h?

If its a imported spree or has parts from certain parts of japan with will have a 50kph alarm that goes off, or the state it was sold to might have required it. I would keep it on if thats what it ends up being.

Re: World of jets? Scooter tuning

I don't own a spree yet but I have adapted a piaggio athena/stage6 pro race cylinder to a Honda hobbit engine and mounted it to a honda express frame. I got it up to 67mph till I slowed down before the railroad tracks. Later I found I cracked the subframe, which explained the flexing I felt when th...

Re: World of jets? Scooter tuning

I have a 09' SR50 70cc Malossi fuel injected engine sitting in my garage! It was my first scooter $3500!! DirtyD got me into the game. It did 50-55 sitting up after the kit and a pipe along with tranny mods. I bought spare cases and converted to carb. I just bought a 94cc malossi mhr team cylinder,...

Re: World of jets? Scooter tuning

Adapting a small injector from say a motorcycle or lawnmower is only the beginning, you will need a microprocessor as well as input sensors, and a pressurized fuel sytem. But yes it could be done. If you choose this journey, please post your pictures and story along the way. I think it would be far...

Re: World of jets? Scooter tuning

So that brings me to my next question, could you put a fuel injector on a carbed scooter redneck style? Like say a tiny injector meant for a smart car or and just kinda modified it and sealed it to the carb? Im just trying to pop the bubbles to understanding jetting.

Re: World of jets? Scooter tuning

Thanks for the response guys, now I have another question. How would jetting be on 0 Celsius vs 60? I would assume the colder air would make it run leaner?

World of jets? Scooter tuning

Ive always wondered if the sprees or any carbed scooter sold in NY would be the same as the CA jet wise? Ive tried googling it with no luck. I know some cars are sold with hill assist and some with transmission that wont roll backwards.

Re: 1986 honda spree idle issue

I have followed the airbox delete where you use a pod filter and a bottle cap and drill two holes in it.

1986 honda spree idle issue

List of engine things done; cleaned carb cleaned muff out put in a new battery ( I use the kick start mostly thought, otherwise I would burn the starter out ) New petcock The reeds seem to be strong still. When I kick it over it starts then either wants to rev up or revs once then stalls out. Someti...

Honda spree engine swap newb questions.

Ive spent quiet a while on the forums and on the internet looking for someone who could fabricate a gy6 to spree motor mount... After ordering a new fueltap the other night and it getting here today, I tuned the scoot and drove up and down the motorway a few times. Apparently the engine had been und...

Re: Need fuel delivery help?

dude. i agree with swimmingfree. the crack in the carb not somthing to ignore. did you spray the crack with carb cleaner while it was at idle to see if the idle speed changed? if it does change in idle speed there is a leak. The crack is not all the way through and I did test spray it, idle stayed ...

Re: Need fuel delivery help?

I did the bottle cap trick, it was on it at the time, I believe the petcock is the problem. The exhaust is super easy to blow air though, I checked it for leaks and found nothing. I would assume that oil would visible if it had a leak in the block anywhere. And for the moving electronic carb, does a...
